New To Us With Lots Of Savings

We are nine strong on Day 3 of the 30 Day Squat Challenge, as my friend, Diana, emailed me to come on board last night, with Scarlet of The Finished Article and Sue of Our New Found Life in the Country also joining along.

My sister, Donna, said if nothing else comes of this challenge, she is certain by the end our butts will be so tight we will be able to "bounce a quarter" off of them..  That threw us into a fit of laughter as you can well imagine.

This morning I had been woken up by one very uncomfortable Mercedes, who at this point is really feeling the pressure bearing down on her.  Out we ventured with 3 squats of her own following.  Of course once I had been out with her and back in, you know Lexus would also want to follow suit.  *Sigh* I did manage to get back into bed until almost 6:00 am.

Rob accompanied me North of the Checkerboard this day.  Not only did we go to our scheduled Doctor's appointment, we had also made arrangements to pickup a Queen Sized Pillow Top Mattress from a lady up that way.  The mattress I had seen on the swap last Sunday had been 5 years old, and a duplicate from the 2nd residence they had built.  They decided to sell the one and remain North for retirement.  Boy oh boy, I sure wish I could retire with them, as their home is absolutely stunning as a Mansion on a hill top should be.  The mattress came from a lovely clean home, and at the price of $100.00 I didn't even bat an eye or have to think twice about purchasing it from this lovely couple.

The price of a brand new mattress can run anywhere from $1,000 upwards to buy one as this we had bought.  Our old one had seen its day at 15 years old by this time.  This mattress we picked up this morning is new to us with LOTS of savings ....

"By the time we made it back home it had been 11:30 am.  Rob and I managed to take off the old mattress and set up the new one.  The difference is our old one was a Deep Pocket, but never no mind the newer on is on and will work just fine.

Once the mattress had been placed, Rob put on his "Crabby Cabbie" hat and headed down South on the Highway to work for the remainder of the day.  The old mattress remains in our hallway to be taken off to the dump tomorrow morning (hopefully tomorrow).

I spent some of the afternoon attending to, what else but .... more "Crabby Cabbie" stuff that needed my attention before I headed out to complete yet another "grid" on my flowerbeds.  What a beautiful day it was and still is.  The only thing is by the time early evening arrives so do the Blackflies ... oh my they can be vicious little monsters !!!

"Two before and one after photo of the "grid" which was completed.  There was yet another huge pile of leaves to compost or be burned.  While walking about our lawn there are many thistles that need removing ... you do not want to step on one of these in your bare feet."

I know everyone is being as patient as we are for Mercedes' litter to arrive.  This afternoon she was showing even more signs of the time being closer with the panting having had started, a bit more on the stressed side with jumping up on me and wanting to be cuddled more then usual, and "voiding" more often each time we are outside.  The time is closer ... I can feel it, can't you?

Yesterday Lexus had a wonderful day with her Spectacular Six 2012 pup, Injaca, as well as did Bandit meeting up with him after a whole year almost having had past.  Check it out yourself HERE how much fun they had themselves.

We are getting down to the nitty gritty with only 9 more days to Vote once every 24 hours ... YIKES !!!

Because of YOUR support and daily votes we are now at 705 Votes,  40 more then two days ago.  We are averaging about 40 new daily votes.  Remember you can only vote once within a 24 hour period or the vote will not take.

Many thanks to friends who have also been sharing the link to their own personal Facebook pages, what a wonderful gesture on all your parts.

Hardly enough when I look at some people's Small Businesses with Votes already in the high hundreds, however I still need to try my best.   Once again, please Vote daily for MY "Crabby Cabbie", until the 12th of May, here is the link:

The Daily votes seemed to be dropping ... I might have to call on all my Blogger friends to do a few "SHOUT OUTS" for my Crabby Cabbie before the 12th of May ... can you feel my excitement ????

Pssst ... those of us on board with the 52 Week Money Challenge, don't forget we are at Week 18 with $171.00 in savings for those of us who are following the week by week method.  Starting to see it build now, are we not?

Here it is almost 6 pm, and I am ready to publish this here post and go enjoy the still beautiful day we are having, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".

  2. I am still sick so haven't started yet, and that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!!

I hope Mercedes pups come soon, or she will be ready to pop, poor thing.

As I have put 21 weeks in my pot, I think I will "save up" over the next three weeks, for the $51 week, and get that out of the way.

  6. Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you're using? I'm going to start my own blog soon but I'm having a hard time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique.
P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
