It's Getting Costly

Last night when I returned home the egg shape of the Moon had caught my attention.

I awoke early early this morning feeling like I hadn't slept for the last Year.  Thank goodness I had my "go to complain" friend, Vicki, then after I was done said to her, "yes you know as this is exactly how you feel".  That gave us a bit of a laugh.

Thank God for good friends and laughter, or truly I am sure as the nose on my face I would be doomed.

It's getting costly trying to keep up with those damn Beavers and their Dams.  Today it was our neighbour who had to have the backhoe come back to remove his culvert.  We had to break down and get the trapper back or we would be flooded out to no tomorrow.

Our neighbour's Garden Centre will be opening tomorrow for the Season, so no it can not be flooded out.

Thank goodness the backhoe was doing the work, as the guys were looking on.  When the job was all done Rob came back up to the house, and he had picked me some daffodils.  How sweet he is my dear Husband (most of the time in my books)

It had struck me funny to look over to see Rob trying to read part of the menu I had brought home from the new Chinese Restaurant opening downtown Wiarton.  We all can suspect who had the other parts of it, can we not?

Rob was pretty steady at work today, while I got a head start on some of the billing.  Late this afternoon, actually after  5 pm, I had taken my Cousin Peggy up on her offer to go walking.

I am very happy I was only 25 steps off my 10,000 step a day goal.  By the time I get myself to bed I am sure I will be pretty dang close to completing my goal.

Rob's exhausted and gone to bed.  I am exhausted and will be following him there very shortly, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Muskrat Love & Busy As A Beaver

The Ruby Red-breasts of the Robins are out in abundance now ... here's looking at you !

Rob went back to our fields today to check out why the water was not going down from our fields, since he had the one plugged culvert removed last week.

The water appeared to be running at the spot where the culvert had been removed, however down the drainage ditch heading straight up from our bush was high and flooding.

Remember Captain & Tennille's  "Muskrat Love" ?

Yes there has been some Muskrat Love going on at our property.  Muskrat houses are made from grasses as you can see pictured below.

Then he came across one huge damn Beaver dam, along with many felled trees at our bush line.

The Beavers also have clogged up the culvert at our neighbours, making a Dam there.  They are persistent buggers, this is for sure and doing a good job of flooding us both out.  We are hoping our hay field hasn't been too damaged, and our neighbour's pond starts going down once his culvert and Beaver has been removed.

You can tear apart a Beaver's Damn only to have it built back up by the next day.  This is truly amazing making it the saying, "Busy as a Beaver" quite the reality.

For some more information on Muskrats, please *click* HERE, and for Beavers, please *click* HERE.

I just arrived back home from a meeting about 15 minutes ago.  I need to take care of Portia and Bandit before evening thinking about bed.  Rob has looked after Lexus and Buddy for the night now and has left out on a call.

I feel a headache coming on which I suspect is the beginning of the weather changing up soon, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

YOU Have to Go THERE !

I have had an extremely busy day .... I recently just got home & happy Rob recorded The "Voice", as tonight two more will be eliminated.

Thanks to my girlfriend, Koreen Ryan, who invited me along as her "date" to the OPEN House of a new Southampton Business, I had a wonderful time.

Yes, you have to go there !  Where you might ask? well downtown in my Hometown of Southampton (that is Ontario, not UK) to experience the Southampton Olive Oil Company.

Owners, Dave & Donna Ruddell, will introduce you to a World of Vinegar and Olive Oils you have never experienced before .....

Specializing in ultra premium extra virgin oils, fused and infused flavoured olive oils, aged dark and white balsamic vinegar condimento, and some speciality oils. They also carry other select gourmet products.

There store is a tasting room where they invite and encourage our patrons to try all of our oils and vinegars before buying them.

It is truly a taste experience!
( excerpt from visitsouthampton.ca )

My two favourites, after we had tasted many, were the Lemon and the Honey Ginger Vinegars, which I bought one of each of the small sizes.  I also bought a jar of Almond stuffed Olives imported from Spain.  Yummmmm, I do love Almonds and Olives, but together they are beyond a treat.

Hosts, Dave and Donna, are both very special individuals as in personalities and knowledge.  You can walk into the Southampton Olive Oil Company and feel like you are walking into a personal home.  The colours and atmosphere gives you the warm feeling of the old countries abroad, pulling you in with its comfort.

I can attest to the fact this Roasted Red Pepper Hummus is the "bomb" !  The one Dave made up was ohhhhh soooo good.

Yep my girl, Koreen checking out then realizing I was taking her photo I got the "P... Off" look.
I get that "look" quite frequently at times.

Koreen, and Barb (Koreen's right hand girl), and I were the last ones at the Open House.  Koreen did up Donna and Dave's custom aprons and table clothes at her store here in Wiarton, RAM Trophies & Sportswear.  Need almost anything customized? contact Koreen by *clicking* HERE.  Please don't tell her I sent you, as she might think I like her work or something like that?

Donna happens to be great friends with my first cousin, Suzanne as well.  Small World is it not.

Anyhow I was getting around  to the point there was a draw for a basket Donna had made up for this evening.  Barb pulled the winning name, handing it to Dave, who said he was not going to say until the person had first paid for their purchases.  Ha ! it was me.

Donna photo bombed the first photo ... too much fun.  Then Koreen took a shot of Donna, Dave and I, along with the GIFT BASKET !  Thank you both so very much.

And YES, you have to go there to the Southampton Olive Oil Company, 173 High Street, downtown Southampton, as it is a true taste experience I guarantee you have never had.  You can also find Donna and Dave on Facebook by *clicking* HERE.

It was a good day out and about, now back home to watch the recording of The "Voice", Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

An Early Mother's Day

My Mom has always enjoyed getting "special" occasion cards early so she can view them up to the day of the occasion.

This morning I did a bit of housework then called to see if my niece, Joanne, wanted to go along with me to visit and have lunch with her Grandma.  She agreed to come along.

Today was an early Mother's Day for my Mom.  She was very surprised by our visit, and then more surprised to find out we were staying to have lunch with her.  I love surprising people and making their day ! don't you?

I took along Mom her Mother's Day Card, a plant, and an addition to her Box Hat Bear collection (she loves bears).

My Niece, Joanne, also loved Miss Strawberry Bear.

We were down for lunch before it was time, as Mother is NEVER LATE FOR HER MEALS, and has been like clockwork as long as I can remember, even when she cooked herself.  My Mom and youngest son, Paul, are like two peas in a pod and love each other like no tomorrow.  Every time I go visit Mom I text him a photo of her, and he texts me back one of him for me to show here.

Part of our conversation before lunch went sorta like this:

Me:  Mom, Joanne is selling her place and will be looking for a new one.

Mom:  Joanne you would like it here, I will find out if there is anything available for you.  They do your laundry, make your bed, and do the meals.

Joanne:  That would be nice.  And a bath twice a week.

I then told Mom I would find out if there was anything available from the Head Nurse, who I got then to go over to tell Mom the residence was full up right now but she would let her know when something came available.

Bless Mom's Heart.  This is about the 2nd time she told Joanne she would like living there with her at the Nursing Home.  Joanne? still has a few years to go before that happens ... hahahaha !
Lunch? it was very good.  Cheese & Mushroom Strata, Peas & Mashed Potato with a Lemon Mousse for dessert, along with a cuppa tea.

I don't know about Mom, who opted for the cold cut sandwich, but Joanne and I had both been stuffed after eating our lunches.  Once we walked Mom back to her room and said our goodbyes we decided to walk all the way downtown from Gateway Haven to the Sally Ann, and then back.

So far today I have walked 6575 steps (2.6 miles).  That is enough walking for me today as I am beat!  Dinner tonight? I had salad and Rob had leftover Turkey with all the trimmings.

Tonight is The "Voice" and it is getting closer to the finals week after week.  I think I am going to be sleeping early this evening with all the walking I have been doing the past three days.

A Beautiful Beginning

What a beautiful beginning to a day when one is able to watch the Sun rise up in the Eastern skies.

Then go on to realize a red-breasted beauty is nesting in your pine tree, and shows no fear when you stand by to observe him.

Accomplishment (even though it should have been housework, but tomorrow is another day) in being able to go on a walk in the morning, and again in the afternoon of the same day.

Grateful for the food going on our table and making a meal which makes my husband very happy,, and even happier knowing he has his favourite leftovers in the fridge for the next day. (sorry Auntie Gladys, I know how much you LOVE turkey too).

Taking pleasure in watching one of our four legged loves being spoiled by the man I love.

Life is GOOD, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Another Big Item Is Off The List

Today I thought I was going to be tackling housework, but once again that got put on the back burner as a bigger project took place, and I was the gopher with at least two trips to the Wiarton Home Building Centre.

This is the view outside our bedroom window.  Yep, there is no window there !  as the window Rob custom ordered from the Wiarton Home Building Centre arrived yesterday, and today was the day the old one came out and the new one was going in.  Rob said we replaced it in time before the water backing in under the sill rotted the wood it had been framed in to.  Check out all the yucky dead flies that had been getting in underneath.  There had been one little strip of insulation along the bottom of the old window, that you could have spit through.

Of course my Rob had lots of Aussie doggies helping with the window installation, while he was working like a dog, and one even took advantage of the open view.

Our brand new Energy Star double hung window is installed, with just the trim needing replaced.

If nothing else got done today I am okay with that as another big item is off the list.

This afternoon Rob and I headed over to Owen Sound as he had to go on a call.  While we were over there we went into Sears to finish off outfitting Rob for the Wedding.  He got a really nice pair of shoes for 40% off, and dress socks. It cost more to outfit him then me, but then again I had a shawl and evening bag lent to me that I didn't have to buy which helped.

We didn't get back from Owen Sound until after 5 pm.  I decided I needed to get back out for a walk, as I want to keep the momentum going now I have started, and it was a beautiful day out there today.

I had called my friend, Lynn, who was available to go along with Buddy & I.  We did a good walk, and we managed to poop our energetic Buddy out.  I broke my walking goal of 10,000 steps today by completing 11,868 steps !  Holy moly I haven't done that many since before my knee surgeries, and I am very pleased with myself.

Exercise is a great stress and depression reliever, it is just getting yourself to push and get at it.  I sure hope I am able to keep at it regardless of what is going on in my life.  My health is more important then housework at the moment, so one thing at a time ....

It has been a good day, and hopefully I will sleep fitfully this evening, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

What To Say?

Not certain what to say today, as truly I have not had that much interesting going on in my day, or so I think that is of interest to myself, or anyone else for that matter.

What to say?  let's give it a go anyway.... I did enjoy a morning coffee at Wiarton's newest Bakery/Cafe Shop, downtown on Berford Street.

Luscious Bakery is amazing, or so I hear as I was very good and refrained by indulging myself in some of Owner Karen's yummy baked goods.  Farol, WDCC Staff, however treated herself to a scone to go with her morning coffee.  I was tempted !!!

Open Monday to Friday 8 am - 4 pm, on the corner of Berford & George Streets, kittykorner from the Post Office.

Owner of Home By Design, Carl Dejong, had also been out early this morning.  I got to peak in his store before it was open to see something was a "wow" factor to me.

I thought what a great piece to compliment a "feature" wall in any home !  Could you see this in a huge 4 Season Sun Room?  I am pretty sure I could.

It seemed I had been running aimlessly around like a chicken with its head cut off today, to the point of not even getting my bed made yet, and the dishwasher only just loaded 1/2 hour ago.  I have been caving lately and using the dishwasher.

The Chamber After 5 event, which was hosted by Chamber Member, The Spirit Rock, was a lovely evening out.  Lots of faces, some usual, some new ... great presentation of what is up and coming for this Season by Owner, Bob Bell.

WDCC President, Paul Deacon, Bob Bell of The Spirit Rock, and Chamber Director, Koreen Ryan, WDCC After Hours Coordinator.

Charity of Choice proceeds to the Wiarton Skate Park.

What a nice gesture the host giving to a local Charity of Choice.  Touche'

I guess some more Wiarton news would be our Foodland store is getting a new location and a new building, since it was passed, after some length of time being in the works, this week.   A little bit more on this can be read by *clicking* HERE.  30 MORE jobs being created !  that is wonderful.

Hopefully new development comes faster ahead giving away to more growth and job creation in Wiarton.

Six Years This Day

Six years this day was the day I quit smoking after I had turned 50 years old, and I have never looked back, other then still getting the odd craving here and there once in a blue moon (old habits must really die hard at times).

My Mother quit when she turned 50 years old, so I had my mind set on that age to do the same for quite a number of years prior.  I can still remember my first "puff" of a cigarette at the Esquire Theatre in my Hometown of Southampton.  I was sicker then a dog and have no idea why I ever continued, other then it was the thing to do back then.

Would you like to read more, then about when I began smoking, about the Southampton Esquire Theatre back in the day? just *click* HERE.

This morning I was having difficulty getting motivated with anything again, so I decided to force myself to get out on a walk with one of my favourite companions.  I bundled up and we headed downtown to Bluewater Park where I parked and got going on our walk.

Lexus was my Aussie of choice to begin my walking routine again.  She is really a great walking companion, and has learned over the years to sit very quietly at my side while a take photos.  I will take turns out walking between her, Bandit, Buddy and Portia.  I hope I find the time and energy at least twice a week to get started.  My goal is to do 10,000 steps a day, and to day I walked over 6,000 steps, so off to a good start.

Last night's shopping trip at the Sears store in Owen Sound was successful, as we got Rob pretty much outfitted for the upcoming Wedding in July.

He looks pretty dapper in this nice black suit with a grey shirt.  We also picked out a tie and belt to go along with the ensemble.  All that is left for him to get is a pair of dress shoes.

I am very excited for us to both be getting all dressed up for the Wedding and have our pictures taken.  I do not think Rob and I have had that done since our own wedding 19 years ago this October.

It will be nice to get a Family Photo together also with the Grandkids !!!

This afternoon I had every muscle in my body seemingly screaming.  I tried laying down for awhile with no luck at relief.  I finally got off the couch and into an extremely hot shower.  Yes I then felt well enough to make some Homemade Hamburger for our dinner.

After Dinner I was off to an Chamber After 5 Event at The Spirit Rock Motel on the North Hill in Wiarton.  More about The Spirt Rock Motel can be found by going HERE, as it is much more then a motel.

I can not believe after such a dull grey cold day the Sun has decided to come out at 7:30 pm to give us hopefully a bit of teaser of what tomorrow might bring maybe?  Fingers crossed.

Happy Earth Day 2015

Is it not wonderful to breath in the air and the wind knowing we somehow contributed to its wellness, in turn giving us wellness?  How do you contribute to our Earth?

I try to recycle what I can, never throw garbage refuse anywhere then where it should go, plant flowers to attract butterflies and bees, grow a veggie garden with no pesticides, and more I am sure if I stopped to think about it a little longer.

In this "throw away" World we now live in, it is more and more difficult I am sure to keep our landfills from filling up quicker then they should.  I vote we bring back appliances, as one example, that last longer then 5 to 8 years, like when I was growing up.

I suppose with higher populations they decided more jobs would be created if things wore out faster then they used to?  and who is someone like little old me to change that up, but it does upset me that MORE THEN A LOT of our industry has moved down to Mexico.  And again, what is to be done about it now ... nothing.

Ooopsie didn't mean to make Earth Day celebration into an Economic rant.

My friend, Abby & I had made plans to meet up for lunch over a week ago.  Today was the day, and of course she wanted to go to the Green Door Cafe, so that is where we met up at 11:30 am.

Lunch was awesome and we got to chit chat until almost 1 pm !!  it was long overdue for us to get together.  Can't wait until the Wiarton Farmer's Market begins then I will see her every week there.

When I got back home my poor tired Rob was sound of sleep on the couch.  I was happy he got a couple hours sleep before he had to go back out this afternoon.

The ice has been out of Colpoy's Bay since last week when we had the warm spell.  The weather has been erratic with bouts of swirling snow and rain.  Nothing in the way of snow that will stay.

Driving down by the bay I couldn't help but think it won't be long the sailboats at the Wiarton Marina will be back in the bay.

Rob and I went over to Sears this evening.  They had 40% off men's dress wear.  He bought a suit jacket, slacks, 2 short sleeve shirts, a tie and new belt for the upcoming wedding.  He still needs shoes and dress sock before he is totally outfitted.  I must say he looks pretty dapper when cleaned up.

Photos to follow tomorrow, as at the moment I am tired, he is tired, and we will not be far from our bed, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Tuesday 21 April 2015

Thank God ...

Thank God I have bad luck, otherwise there are days I would have no luck at all.

First off my day began before 5:30 am, as I am certain I barely slept again all night due to shoulder blade, arm and neck pains.  Then for some reason or another Buddy decided he would like out an hour earlier this morning.

At 5:30 am the frogs and birds were chirping like crazy out in the fields and bush.  It is quite the chorus they have going on first thing.

I kept going once I was up, as what else is a girl to do.  I also had to run to town this morning as my new prescription glasses were ready to be picked up.  My prescription had not changed any, however I figured I needed new frames after having the ones I have had for over 4 years.

I like them as the black frame will go with anything.  For $369.00 I guess I better like them, and just think $69.00 was only the cost of the frames !

I could not believe how good my bad luck was today, as just before I had left to go out anywhere this morning, I bent over to put a collar on Portia and a muscle pulled in my lower left side of my back.  I have been barely been able to sit, or get back up to stand, without excruciating pain.  I know many know how that feels !

Nothing like having two days forward only to be set back two more.  Yes my good bad luck coming full circle again.

Rob was back home for lunch today.  Poor guy can't even have a snack without being begrudged ....

Yes two very well behaved intense Aussies looking on when there is food involved.

Needless to say not much got done in the housework department today, with the whole of my afternoon spent on the couch with the heating pad applied to my backside.

I am going to turn that heating back on very shortly here again while I watch who gets eliminated from The "Voice" on tonight's episode, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Another Fix

Rob had been waiting 3 days for a guy he had contacted earlier last week to come remove the plugged culvert from our drainage ditch.  No show after being told he would be here Saturday or Sunday.

The rains arrived last night causing the fields, and our neighbours pond, to swell even more today.

After his morning calls, Rob stopped back to see Ross Davidson, who we have depended on and been treated so well by the 12 years we have been here.  Ross told Rob if he was stuck to come see him, which exactly what took place.

Unfortunately Ross just had a knee replacement and will be laid up for 6 weeks, however his son Ben just happened to be there when Rob dropped in.  It worked out all perfect as Ben said he would be right up to get the job done.  Another fix done !

Our neighbour, Mike, also dropped over.  It is so great to have a wonderful neighbour on the one side of us, and people like the Davidsons in business to look after peoples needs.  Needless to say the ditch has been cleared and the water is now flowing down into Colpoy's Bay.

It was noon by the time Rob got back in the house.  As soon as he came in I left as I had some running around downtown to get done.  I had just gotten parked and recogonized a van parking on main street.

Amazing who comes to Wiarton !  I love spotting people before they spot me, however Uncle Basil had seen me when Auntie had been parking.  Sure wish I could maneuver parallel parking as well as she does ... she is a wiz at it from my observations.

Uncle, Auntie, and Cousins, Vi & Ross, were up to have lunch at the Green Door Cafe.  I returned a dish I had of Aunties, and she had some magazines and something "special" for me for my Birthday.

Things that made me happy today ....

The beautiful Rose Auntie had gotten for me, thank you again, Auntie.  The k-cup holder I purchased "on sale" at Rankin River Trading Co., which made my counter top more organized looking, and the first steak of the Year my wonderful husband grilled.

Late today Rob had a friend over, who does amazing woodwork and renos.  He was the guy who did the frame work between our dining/living room areas a couple of years ago.  He came to check our Bedroom, and the Kitchen, so he can give us an estimate on the work I would eventually like to have done in those rooms.  I am thinking this is what my 52 Week Money Challenge Money will be going towards this year.

All was good this day in my Life, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Sunday 19 April 2015

It's Out !

I was feeling poopy again this morning.  One good day followed by a couple of bad ones it seems lately.  It could be because it has turned damp and the rain is going to be filling the skies this evening and tomorrow?

I sure hope having the surgery on my pancreas tube to widen it helps as the pain gets to be very uncomfortable somedays, however not as bad as it was that caused me to head to the Hosptial's emergency department (thank goodness).  Oh well I am pretty certain there is a lot worse problems/illnesses out there then what I am experiencing, but then again when it is our pain, we do own it.

Finally when I did get motivated today I tackled the foyer and stairs with my new Dyson DC78 Animal Vacuum.

Amazing how much dirt it collected, is it not?  I am sure after the Aussies being in and out all day I could probably vacuum it again and get still more dirt.  No matter it does look better then before I started.

We were to head over to Silver Lake Road, Sauble Beach way by the lunch hour.  I am pretty sure Rob is happy it's out !!!

Rob got it out, then headed down to the Saugeen Gas Bar to get it filled up before the gas goes up again.

We got it back home and I took Bandit out.  We hopped in the RV while Rob backed it in.

Bandit absolutely LOVES the RV.  He stuck his tongue out as much to say to me, "I am the co-pilot here, not you Mom".  He has to be one of the best travellers, as all our Aussies are.

This afternoon I got our bedroom dusted and vaccumed, as well as three loads of laundry done up.  I was happy to get that done while Hydro rates were at their lowest on the weekend.

Later Rob got a call to go to Owen Sound.  I went along as Sears had the Lock & Lock Starfrit containers on sale.

I got 4 pieces, each at 50% off.  I also bought two Wonderbras, as they were on sale at buy one get the 2nd one free.  A really good deal at $31.99 for both.

I didn't have much time at Sears, as Rob had dropped me off there just after 4:30, and they closed at 5 pm.  Condsidering I tried on 3 bras, and a pair of panties and we checked out by 5 pm, I did really well.  I would like to go back this week as they have men's dress pants on for 50% off, and I would like Rob to get a pair for the July Wedding, if we could find a pair for him.

We are both tired.  Rob has "fired up" the wood stove to get the damp out of the house, which crept in late today, and now is gone to take Buddy for his evening walk around the property, and then take Lexus out.

I almost forgot he was back at the drainage ditches today with the tractor (thank God he didn't get stuck), as the silch had blocked the culvert causing our back field to flood and was backing up the neighbours pond.  He is gone back now with Bandit to check the flow of it.  If it isn't Beavers, it is something else ! such is life .... *smile*.

No matter how tired we are, or grumpy, Rob and I always manage to have a wee bit of bantering and fun between us in every one of our days .... and truly thank goodness I LOVE him !!!

On that note I think I will be soon calling it a day here, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Things That Made Me *Smile*

I must be feeling better as I got a bit more cleaning done today, heavy emphasis on the "bit".  I was beginning to get discouraged and overwhelmed when I got started at it, but stopped myself with some self-talk.  I can not expect to have been sick "out of commission" for some time, be as busy or as much pain as I am most day and expect miracles overnight.

I need to remind myself my lifestyle has changed.   I must do what I can, when I can, and not let it upset me as much as it does.  And believe you me, it really does bother me !

I guess our boy, Paul, came home the other night totally exhausted.  Our Elizabeth sent me a photo to prove how tired he was.

With Mercedes around he most certainly wasn't exhausted and lonely !!!  This makes me happy with lots of *smiles*.

How could these faces not make one *smile*?  Our Aussies never cease to make me *smile*.

Today on Liz's break at work she sent me a text which made me so happy and I am still *smiling*.

I was also very happy today that I had my first BBQ'd Chicken Burger of the Season ... whoohoo to many more to come !!!

All considering with cleaning, but a day full of Sunshine and *smiles* I had a pretty good day, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Ewwwwwww

Last night was another restless night for both Rob and I.  Oh dear what is a person to do but .... get OUT THAT RUBBER MALLET !!!!  something has to work, does it not?

To be quite honest nothing was accomplished much again today.  It is getting very tiring this getting nothing done business.  I have my fingers, toes, legs & not yet my arms crossed that tonight will be better for the both of us.

After we had lunch Rob and I both had a bit of relaxation, and of course Portia was trying to get close to Rob to give him some Aussie loving.

Ewwww, the Aussie loving kind of backfired on her ... hahaha.

Rob actually did more around our house then I did today.  Our first leaf fire of the Year.  We usually leave them on the flowerbeds until the last of the frost has left.  For some reason I am thinking there will still be frost coming yet.

I had a meeting this afternoon, which actually took most of the afternoon not finishing up until after 5 pm..  Meeting kind sometimes make a person feel weary as well, especially when one has to take in too much information all at once.

My girlfriend, Vicki, shared an article with me today that she had came across for backbone, back and leg pain.  Wonder if it would work or not, or if Rob would remember to do it for 2 months or not is another wonder?  The article can be found by *clicking* HERE.

Rob is yawning.  It will not be long before I find myself doing the same thing, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Create A Mess

Last evening was the Wiarton District Chamber of Commerce's Annual General Meeting.  It had been held at the Wiarton Curling Club.  Rob and I attended.

What an amazing AGM this year was.  I was overwhelmed at the local businesses who so generously donated Door Prizes.  The caterer was Cater Pro, who served up a most delicious dinner.

Lots of thought went into presentation.  Great job on behalf of the WDCC staff.

Truly the food was great choices, done to perfection.  Dessert? well you can tell by looking at it how good that was.

The MC was both amusing, but professional, hitting on "key" facts within the Community.  Speakers, BP Mayor Janice Jackson, MP Larry Miller, and Caframo Owner, Tony Solecki were interesting to listen to with everything they presented taken in by all in attendance.

President, Paul Deacon, spoke on behalf of the Chamber, as did key members of Chamber Sub-Committees the Wiarton Willie Festival, Revitalization Committee, and Canada Day.

End result was the whole night being a successful Chamber AGM.  Good job to all who volunteer within the Chamber and its sub-committees, who bring it all about within the Community of Wiarton.  Everyone left with a walking stick, compliments of Bruce County, and a Brief Case bag generously donated by RAM Trophies & Sportswear, Wiarton.

When Rob and I had returned home we took care of our Aussies then went directly to bed.  First night in our brand new mattress (3rd one) was a SUCCESS !!!  very very very comfortable.  The only problem I had with it was when I got up through the night to find myself "falling" out of bed, as I had forgotten how high up I had been.  Hopefully I get used of the height again, as our first pillow top had been this high.

This morning I had actually put a dent in the cleaning department !!!  this is a good sign of my feeling better.

Yes I always manage to create a mess before I get a mess cleaned up.  End result is always very rewarding though, is it not?

Mark your calendars Bruce Peninsula residents as the OPP is doing a "old" or "no longer" required drug collection.

This Prescription Drug Drive prevents our landfills from having drugs dumped into them.  Sure wouldn't want a Bear or a Seagull to be wandering around "loopy" now would you?

This afternoon I had a meeting to attend to.  When I got home Rob suggested we have French Toast for our Dinner.  Yes French Toast is yummy for Dinner, just sorry I didn't have a side of bacon to go along with it.

The weather must be changing up with rain arriving again, as the makings of a migraine aura began before dinner.  Yes I took meds, however they have not yet taken effect.

I am looking forward to my bed tonight, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.
