I Can't Believe I Won AGAIN !!!

"This morning was a very wet and bleak beginning to our Day when Mercedes and I had first emerged into the early morning.  I will NOT be putting away my Winter Boots just yet."

The weather pretty much matched how my day started out with its bleakness.  I had promised to make a batch of Black Bean Brownies for a get together I am going to be attending, so this was on my agenda first thing.

"All put together in the blender and ready to go .... fired up the blender AND...."

"...the dang thing wasn't sitting on the base properly, so the base was stripped all to tarnation. Dang, dang, triple dang, so much for my great $5.00 deal, when I only got to use it once !  I am in the market for another Blender, any available out there?  LOL."

After this disaster, things did eventually smooth out a little better as the morning processed with the brownies finally making it into the Oven.

"And safely, thank goodness, baked and onto the counter to cool before packaging up."

This was not my first ever kitchen mishap/disaster over the Years, and I am sure it will probably be not my last.  I was so disappointed, as the Blender was "perfect" for making these Black Bean Brownies, which I love so by omitting the Chocolate Chips, and adding a bit more cocoa and an extra teaspoon of vanilla.

Oh well.....what is that old saying? "don't cry over spilled milk", I suppose I wiped the tears and got on with it by getting our Dinner prepared next.

"I was itching to try out the Maple Chipotle BBQ Sauce we had bought from Miner's Maple Syrup Products, locally owned and operated I might mention.  Into the Slow Cooker went some boneless Loin Pork Chops until cooked, with the sauce put on for the last half hour of cooking time.

"I also used up some of the leftover potatoes from the day before to make up a Potato and Egg Salad."

"With some steamed Cauliflower on the side, our Dinner was "devine".  Rob and I truly enjoyed the flavor of the Maple Chipolte BBQ Sauce."

Before I knew it Dinner was just getting over with and the clock said "1:22 pm" !  I had to be somewhere for 2:00 pm, so I had to "dangle" to get somewhat presentable looking.

"Regardless I must have "dangled" fast enough, as I arrived at Wiarton's Gateway Haven in good time.  What a beautiful building, is it not?"

"What an enjoyable afternoon I had by listening to some Old Time Music put on by "Ralph & Friends"."

"Mr. Pat Love on Acoustic Guitar and Vocals."

"Mr. Bob Corp on Mandolin."

"Mr. Ralph Shular on Acoustic Guitar and Vocals."

"Mr. Doug Sunterland on Fiddle."

"Lot of fun and great entertainment for all."

"What a treat it is to hear Mr. Doug Sutherland do his stuff on the "Saw" !  A real talent all in itself."

"How sweet was it of Staff Member, Ruth, to fill in for Ralph & Friends on Piano.  Way to go Ruth!"

There was quite a bit of hand clapping and toe tapping most certainly going on this afternoon.  Once again, it was a pleasure to get out once again to hear "Ralph & Friends" perform.  Should there be anyone out there who love to book "Ralph & Friends", please drop me an email with your request, and I will personally send it on for you.

At the same time I was able to "hookup" with my girlfriend.  My BFF, Colleen, loves the colour Purple, which I really don't care for one bit.  However, there is an event on the 12th of May to wear the Colour Purple in recognition of "Fibromyalgia".  I do not own one thing this colour !

"Colleen had no problem lending me a "purple" scarf for this day.  Thanks BFF !"

Please join up for the Fibromyalgia Awareness Day on Facebook, HERE.

Fibromyalgia Awareness Day is important because the more awareness there is, the more public understanding there will be. The more overall understanding there is, the more people will demand that further research is done so that better treatment options are available. If better treatment options are created that will mean that more of the etiology of fibromyalgia and how the body is effected is understood by doctors.

One of the easiest ways to participate in National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day is to wear the color purple (clothing or a ribbon) on May 12th! It is one of the colors that stands for fibromyalgia and also for chronic pain.

Will YOU be wearing purple

Please join along for the Fibromyalgia Awareness Day on the 12 of May 2012, and everyday, as this Chronic Pain Disease is the reality of what many live with day in and day out, including myself.  Thank you all of those who are able to participate.

"I can't believe I won AGAIN" !   Yesterday I received an email from Anita Dejong of Dejong Acres Farm, advising my name had been drawn for third prize from the Kemble Maple Syrup Tour's draw !

"Third prize just happened to be a bottle of Dejong Acres very own home brewed Maple Syrup products in the way of one bottle of Amber and one bottle of Light.  I can't wait until I get these incorporated into some baking recipes I have just recently came across requiring the ingredient of Maple Syrup."

This has never happened to me before in my entire lifetime, this winning streak I have been on for the past couple of months, should I be running out to buy up some lottery tickets?  I think maybe I should be !!!

I am bone weary and mind weary, so this is maybe a good time to wrap things up here to spend the rest of my evening relaxing a bit, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".
