Pass That Dewormer Over Please?

Today was the day, I had decided for myself I was NOT leaving the premises, as there was housework, along with a few other things I wanted to attend to here this day.  Please, could someone tell Mr. Murphy to "bug" right off, or give my head a "shake" to think I could ever make such plans !!!!

Rob decided to waken earlier then usual, get up and be all full of energy.  Now how did this go ...

Today the "Spectacular Six" turned 2 weeks old.  Today was the day they all received their first shot of Dewormer Medication.  I did need Rob to help me with this, which he so graciously did after I had first given Lexus hers, with not even a problem in doing so ...

"Ha,ha,ha....look at that tiny little tongue ...."

"With it almost wrapping itself around the syringe once it got a taste of the "not so bad stuff"."

"Oops, a little bit down the chin, best be licking that up too."

"Then it was the "biggest" sucks turn.  He just didn't want to open those teeth whatsoever .... LOL.  Jeez Whiz, Bandit, is sure wasn't all as bad as you made out it to be !"

...oh yes, then I only needed to go to the Post Office to get my Secret Sister Swap parcel mailed today.

"I am so excited, I hope I filled this little box with a couple of the Secret Sister's most favorite goodies, hopefully putting a "smile" on her face when she receives them.  So much fun, exactly what the Doctor should order for everyone, a little bit of fun !"

However, once downtown, it was also a trip up to our mechanics to see if one of our vehicles had been finished up with yet, then a drive through the Tim Horton's Drive-Thru Window, before we even thought about getting back home.  Oh man, why did I take Rob along with me?  LOL, oh yeah for the company? since we don't see each other often enough.

Then we got back home to see the mail lady had dropped some mail off in our mail box, with one piece happening to be our Bell Canada Cellular Phone bill, which had about $30.00 of unexpected charges on it.  This was a phone call needing be made to see about those "extra charges".  The bill was all straightened out with a fantastic Customer Service Rep, I might add, something to do with a "fluke" of Internet charges?  Something we don't even have under our Cellular phone plan.

*Sigh* it didn't end here .... Rob wanted them to put the Phone Upgrade proposal they had made us yesterday, into place today.  Off we had to go to the Bell Cellular Phone Store in Owen Sound to make our new purchase.

"Of course, when one is running the roads, nothing is getting done back at home, now is it?"

"Since we were over in Owen Sound anyway, I took advantage by remembering to pickup 2 items I needed for a new recipe I have been wanting to try out."

By the time we were done at the Bell Mobility Store, it was after 1:00 pm.  At this point, neither Rob or I had anything yet to eat today.  *Sigh* fast food is not usually high up on my list these past couple of Years, however we each settle on a Grilled Chicken Burger at the Wendy's Restaurant.  The lesser of the two evils, with the other evil being a burger.

We finally did make it back home, with Rob getting himself ready and out the door shortly after we had.

I figured since I had lost most of the day on doing what I hadn't planned on doing, I might as well do the new Recipe I have been meaning to try ....

".... since I had already pickup the Maple Syrup Extract and Banana Chips already."

"The grinding option on the new blender sure came in handy.  By the way, we returned the other model to Giant Tiger and picked up this model with the Glass Pitcher.  Works much better then the "cheaper" model did."

"Mashed Banana added before the dry ingredients are stirred in , with the Banana Chips and Pecans folded in next."

"I halved the recipe into two smaller pans."

"Viola !  Two lovely Maple Flavored Banana-Nana Breads."

Recipe Please?

Maple Flavored Banana-Nana Bread...from the kitchen of One Perfect Bite

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 large)
1/2 teaspoon maple flavored extract
1 cup coarsely chopped banana chips
1 cup chopped toasted walnuts or pecans (optional)

Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Set aside.
2) Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.
3) Beat eggs, maple syrup, oil, maple extract and brown sugar in a large bowl. Stir in bananas. Gradually stir in flour mixture, just until moistened. Fold in banana chips and walnuts. Scrape mixture into prepared pan. Level with an offset spatula.
4) Bake 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack. Yield: 1 loaf.

I found this bread to be not on the overly sweet side, with a nice "crunch" texture to it with the Banana chips and Pecans.  This would be a "perfect" bread to serve with afternoon tea.

Special thanks to Mary of One Perfect Bite for this recipe.  There is rarely a day I ever miss out on seeing what creation Mary has posted, along with her wonderful descriptions of who, where and why.  Thank you, Mary !

One loaf has made its way into the freezer for another time, with the other wrapped tightly for the "Crabby Cabbie" to take along for a snack at work.

Despite all the "running" around once again, I am happy that I did manage to make our bed, tidy up the kitchen, do up the dishes, and clean the bathroom.  Touche', all the day was not a total loss !!!

I know this just has to be difficult for some to believe, but I am "pooped" right out again !  Oh man, I will never get caught up with my Rob's stuff getting put first !!!  Um, I suppose I will have to find a new way to "distract" him, since letting him sleep in doesn't seem to be working out for me like it used to ...LOL !

Tomorrow is a new day, with me already having it in my head fully planned.  I suppose I should maybe aim for a good nights sleep tonight, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".
