My Rob wasn't home until 3 am this morning, but up, showered and out of the house by 10 am we were. We were on a Mission heading South down the Highway.
Missy Mercedes had been loaded up and was going along with us. She is, as are all our Aussies, an awesome traveller.
We were heading down to our Son's in New Hamburg, and he did not know, as it is his 31st Birthday today. I called him first thing this morning to sing Happy Birthday to him over the phone (poor kid), so he would not suspect anything was up.
Today was going to be a Happy Birthday road trip.
I have to also backtrack a wee bit. Last Year when Mercedes had her pups all the kids love them. I had wanted to give them one, however with work schedules and school a puppy would have not worked for them. After much thought we decided that Missy Mercedes, who is almost 3 years old, and house trained, might be the perfect fit for them. So this is why Mercedes went along with us.
Everyone had been surprised, but Liz who knew ahead we were coming, when we arrived.
We were not there too long when we loaded up the youngest two, Briar and Connor, to take along to the store to get them all a good sized wading pool.
Even though it wasn't a really long visit, we had a good visit, and a slice of Carrot Cake each that I had ordered yesterday for the boy. Mercedes is missing us, however she is gone out on her 3rd walk today. They all love going out for walks, so I am certain she will be most happy about that.
Miss Mercedes is on "trial" so should it not work out for them, or Mercedes, she always has us to come home to. However I am confident she will be loved as much as she is here and will be a very good fit for my youngest Son's family.
Once we had left from our visit with Paul, Liz and the 5 kids, Josh, Aiden, Chloe, Briar and Connor, we headed into the Costco Store in Kitchener to pickup some Dog Food and a couple other items. We were happy it had not been too busy, so we were in and out an on our way back home in pretty good time.
Regardless we did not get home until shortly after 6 pm, then had to make sure all the rest of our Aussies were made comfortable before doing anything else.
Needless to say, Rob had gone to bed, and me? I will be following suit not too long from now, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.
Hopefully all works out for Mercedes!
