"Out with the "pack" for their last romp last night, we never fail to have a visit from this fine feathered bunch making their rounds from tree to tree in huge flocks of hundreds."
"Last evening they are joined by a barn top crowd."
"Not quite a full moon yet."
"Then arrives the dawn of this new day at hand."
"Even at this early morning hour the temps were climbing very quickly."
"There are so a few Sun Worshippers in our midst."
"I couldn't help but notice the backdrop of colour the Yucca has with the Lavender and Cone flowers."
"Before it got too hot there were a couple of trouble spots in our yard I needed help getting looked after. The twitch grass was way beyond me trying to manage at this point."
"As well as covering the area around the compost."
"Ewww, Missy Mercedes must have found a fresh worm to roll upon."
Once Rob was up and motoring, he came to my rescue welding the heavy duty whipper snipper, instead of my little light rechargeable which I can just manage myself.
"With the compost area looked after onto the raspberry bushes he went. Thanks Rob !"
While my poor Rob was working up a sweat, I was having myself some "time out" to admire....
"The Raspberry Bee balm is one of my most favourite colours. They are just starting to appear this day."
"Always a show of brilliant orange with the Honeysuckle in bloom."
"The pond has so nicely filled in."
"However deadly its barbs, the Winter Hardy Cactus has such a wonderful showy bloom."
"Look here, Rob is almost done those nasty weeds and grasses around the raspberry bushes."
"The Hens & Chicks can not be left out, as they have been blooming like mad over the past week. Once the pink flower is done its bloom the whole Hen dies right off. A few of us making referral to them as "penises" ... lol, what can I say?"
"Lunch was simply good with the last container of spaghetti sauce removed from the freezer. Time for another Big Batch to be prepared for such times requiring a quick and nutritious lunch."
It wasn't too long after our lunch Rob put on his "Crabby Cabbie" hat and left for his day/evening ahead, while I remained home to attend to some other chores needing much attention.
"I spent a good portion of my afternoon tacking lots of dust and dog hair in the basement. I even managed to get a little bit of decluttering done, even though there is lots more that remains yet to be attended to. I figured with the basement being such a huge declutter job, why wait until Fall arrives to begin, as it will probably take me that long to get it all done."
"After months and months of being secluded to the basement, the Jade plants were released back out into the freshness of the outdoors."
"By this time of the day, the temps had soared to the promised height of 32*C, or 89.6*F, without the humidity. A little on the hot side, but much higher temps in Cities and elsewhere I am sure."
Today was my Baby Boy Paul's 29th Birthday. The memory is still vivid on the day I brought him home from the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, being even hotter this this day we have had. Mother feeding baby with sweat from her brow dropping down onto baby, as it the rolled from there dropping to the floor....it was very hot and humid July 6th, 1983.
How is everyone managing to stay cool? by way of swimming, air conditioning, fans, or just not moving???
After suppertime, I had some errands to attend to here and there, the "pack" to look after one more time before I am able to almost call it a night myself, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".
The first pictures reminds me of the movie "The Birds" It is way to hot here as well, we are staying in for the most part with the air conditioner, fans and lots of quick meals to keep the house cool. Your flowers look wonderful
ReplyDeleteThe honeysuckle has such pretty colour!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend Cindy!
The flowers are just gorgeous! We literally live on the back yard after 5 pm when they sun goes to the other side. Otherwise I sit under our swamp cooler :) We installed a ceiling fan in our bedroom a month ago and it really helps with the heat too, especially at night!
