Day 1 : Boys Galore !

My daily routine just got busier, if you can imagine how it could get any busier then it already was?  but with 2 boys in the house that is the way it is.

Boy oh boy they had been tired.  Aiden never got up until after 7 am, and Connor had to woke up around 8 am, as we had to be at Vacation Bible School for 9 am.  Poor Poppa never arrived home until at least 7:30 am, as he had been called out at 1:30 am to do a taxi run.  While we were heading out the door this morning, Poppa was heading to bed.

Day One of VBS with The Rocky Mountain being the theme this Year.

While the boys were at VBS I returned home to attend to my Aussie Chores, do a load of laundry and tidy up a wee bit.

I was, once again honoured, to have one of the recipes I had made "featured" over at Michelle's weekly "See Ya in the Gumbo".  It was nice to see the Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin featured as it is really really really good.  Check it out by *clicking* HERE.

I  did not get too much done at home before I had to go back at 11:30 to collect the boys.

Once collected I headed on down to Bluewater Park where I was meeting up with my step-daughter, Sarah, and our other two grandboys, Chase and Greyson.

It had not taken long for the boys to get over being shy and playing together.  Oh man they hit the water and were making a muddy mess of each other on the shoreline.  Messy but fun for them.

Sarah and I had a great visit together.  I had turned around from where we were sitting and low and behold my Cousin Vi, her husband, Ross, and their 2 grandchildren, McCara and Brody were there behind us.  They had been up at the Wiarton Marina where their daughter and husband's boat is docked.  We also got to see my friend Sharon and her visiting Grandboys.  It was quite the afternoon.

Our boys had made an honest attempt to get the sand mud from their bodies, then make a run through the Splash Pad before our lunch of Pizza.

After lunch the boys played a little more, and before you knew it it was 2 pm.  I had to get going as there were people coming about 4 pm to view the last two puppies.  We all said our "good-byes" and will be sure to get together again soon before the end of the week with Sarah and the boys.

Back home we all got cleaned up then let the puppies out for some play time.

It had gotten rather hot and sticky again this afternoon, so the boys made sure there was a full dish of water for the puppy boys.

Connor loved having fun with the puppies.  I am sure we all got worn out with the play time were were having together.

The puppy boy Connor had named "white stripe" left to his new Forever Home this day, while the littlest "Peanut" was left behind ..... still seeking a Forever Home himself.

We all had a light supper together.  Aiden is having a few round of Wii games, while Connor is having his bath, and Poppa is back to bed.  Poppa had been up for a bit this afternoon, but had been busy fixing one of his Crabby Cabbie vehicles while we had been puppy playing.

Yes today has been a day full of Boys Galore, as I am sure everyone knows by now there is a new Royal Baby Boy, 3rd in line for England's throne .... http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2013/07/22/royal-baby-born.html

I am thinking we might have one very noisy baby boy puppy here tonight, as he will be very lonely and missing his brother.  The other two boys will be scrubbed nice and clean before they hit the sheets of their beds this evening, and Grandma????  I will be more then likely fast asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow tonight, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".

Flattery Will Get Me Everywhere !

Ha ! Flattery will probably not get me everywhere, however it still made me feel pretty good to know the Best Ever Ham & Cheese Quiche, that is a favourite in my recipe collection, was featured over at Michelle's Ms.en Place: See Ya in the Gumbo, last week.  Thanks Michelle for being such a lovely hostess as always.

Drop on over to Michelle's weekly, See Ya in the Gumbo, to see all the fantastic featured recipes posted over there as well as new posts below.  Here is the "go to" link:

Onto my day at hand.

I was exhausted ... again? still?  It was yet another sleepless night.  I will have to get onto making my cup of Cocoa with hot milk tonight.  I didn't get out of bed this morning, I am sure until after 7:30 am.   That is almost "unheard" of for me to do such a thing.  And to think my gang allowed it to happen was another biggie !!!

Really did I get motivated once I was up, dressed, had been out, about and back in with the gang?  NO !  I am certain I didn't get any motivation going until after the lunch hour, and that probably is because I was feeling a little bit guilty about not having done anything all morning.  Oh I did call my sister, Donna, to wish her a Happy Birthday this morning, and of course I had made the bed.

"Once the "guilt" really set in I hit the books, while the Sun shone brightly outside our doors.  There was a huge rainfall last night leaving mini lakes in our back fields."

The good news was I managed to get one month on the books with only two more months to go, then we got to go out to enjoy some Sunshine for a bit later in the day.

"I had let Bandit out the front door, while Lexus came out the side basement door with me.  She was trotting along nicely then she spotted Bandit."

"One of many stand offs.  The race was on back to me.  Well, maybe a racing Lexus and a trotting along Bandit?"

"Lexus is really such a brat with Bandit putting up with way too much most days from her, and Mercedes too for that matter.  The muddy wet dogs went back into the basement, while I took Mercedes out for a turn by herself.  Buddy? he was out in the outside run as it was such a beautiful day."

I went out to retrieve our mail.  At the end of our driveway I could see a white blob sitting out there.  I was not impressed when I got to the spot to have realized someone had pitched a dirty diaper out of their window while driving by.  How rude people are !!!  Grrr things like that upset me to no end.  I have left it there until I go back out with a double bag to pick it up and put it into our outside garbage bin.

"On my return back to the house I did a very quick survey of my side flowerbeds.   I estimate there is going to be lots of work needing done in them once things dry up with it hopefully getting a bit warmer.  My work is certainly cut out for me in these areas, never mind the vegetable garden."

``Last night's dinner was one of my favourites, however simple.  Romaine lettuce with a bit of red onion sliced into it with choice of dressing, mine being Raspberry Vinaigrette, and Rob, Caesar.  The Chicken fingers, all white meat, were done crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.  Tonight was Spaghetti, another simply good meal."

YIKES !  I almost forgot one of my Highlights of the day.  I made a call to my Blogger friend, Kat of Kat's Retirement Journey.  I met Kat when I was her substitute Secret Sister for the Secret Swap hostessed by the lovely Carla at My 1/2 Dozen Daily, from time to time.  Kat and I began emailing each other after she had received her gift from me.  We seemed to hit it off in our correspondence, so two phone calls later found easy and fun conversations to follow as if we have been fast friends forever.  I LOVE when that happens !

It is nice to have friends in other parts of the World.  This way I get a whole new World opened up to me through their eyes.  Look at the money I am saving by not having to travel to all these places?  Ha! like I have all that kind of cold cash hanging around, right?  *smile*

Speaking of cash.  Here I go again with the "Please cast a daily Vote" for my Crabby Cabbie's cause.  No cost to you, just a *click* on the following link and one more wee *click* to Vote.  Kat was also telling me today, it is also open for US residents to *click* their Vote, as she has been rooting by voting for my Crabby Cabbie too.   Once again, until the 6th of May, here is the link:

Am I still tired? of course I am.  I am going to get that milk heated up, add that dark cocoa powder, a quarter teaspoon of sugar, and hopefully it does it "magic" by bringing me a good nights sleep, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerobard."

Lots OF Elbow Grease !

This morning, once all my Aussie chores were over with and I finally got to sit down to a "first" coffee, I browsed through to read my Blogs Of Interest.  I was thrilled to find out Michelle at Ms. enPlace had featured one of my recipes again at her "See Ya In The Gumbo".  Thank you, Michelle it is always a pleasure not only to participate in your "See Ya In The Gumbo", but dropping in on all your posts to see what's cooking in your part of the World down in Louisiana.

"The Healthy Oatmeal Orange Cookies I had made were featured HERE.  By the way they are very Yummy."

The remainder of my morning I got going on the vicious circle of housework.  The Electrolux Ergorapido Rechargeable I had purchased last Year no longer holds a charge.  I LOVE it, however not really prepared to pay $100.00 or so to replace it at this time.  I called Electrolux Canada to see if something could be done.  I was very pleased to find out if I would send them the "Model/Serial" number silver tag off it, along with a letter to explain the problem along with my address, they would send me out another Unit !  I sure hope this will be the case, as the letter goes out in the mail tomorrow.  Won't this be fantastic if it comes to be? I sure will be one "Happy Camper" !!!

"Once I had addressed the Stick/handheld problem, I had to tackle another problem in our fridge. I guess when I had bought ground beef on sale last week the packaging had leaked.  Oh man by the time I had noticed it way at the back of the shelf it had dried up as hard as a rock.  Hot water and dish soap went in the sink and I started "scrubbing".  What a mess and  "Lots of Elbow Grease" to get it cleaned up."

This afternoon the Forever Home owner for Fabulous Four, Lunette, came by to see her for the very first time.  She is unable to take her for another two weeks, but was anxious to meet Lunette in puppy person.  There was lots going on with the Fabulous Four this afternoon, should anyone be interested just *click* HERE.

It was very late afternoon, probably around 5'ish by the time I finished up with more Aussie duties and Rob arriving home shortly thereafter when I had to get going on putting our Dinner together.  I made a Dinner of Mustard-Maple Pork Tenderloin that I had tried once before we had both enjoyed.

"Mustard, Salt & Pepper rubbed into the trimmed pork tenderloin, then seared to brown on all sides before being placed in a 425*F Oven to finish for 15 minutes or so."

"Once cooked the loin was set to "rest" while I put together the sauce.  I can honestly say this meal is yet another "favourite" for us."

"There was one "little", or should I say, "big" problem.  My dear Rob, who eats almost everything, tried a wee bit of the sauce and didn't like it ... as you can tell in his pictures.  No problem as I loved it, so it was more for "moi" for a change."

Recipe please?  PRINTABLE RECIPE *CLICK* HERE.

I heard a nasty rumour that there is to be SNOW tomorrow !  Really? really does everyone not think there has been totally enough snow this Winter already?   Oh wait a minute, it is Spring !!! what the heck is going on here ??? Ha ! if we held the reins to the weather I am certain it would not be so challenging.

Oh man ! here it is after 8:30 pm already with me still having to take Buddy out for his walk about and it is dark out there.  I best be getting a move on, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".
