A Little Bit Of A Break

It was freezing in our house this morning when I woke up around 5 am.  I absolutely REFUSED to get out of bed until Rob got up first (as it is always me getting up first) to start the Wood Stove & warm it up a bit before I got up.  Thank goodness he did, and by the time I did get up at 6 it had only been 16* C in here, and -10 outside.  Brrrr ....

Barely up and moving, but dressed, the phone rang at 6:30 am.  My brother Allan called to see if I would like for him to pick me up to go for coffee.  I told him "sure, as I had until 8:00 am to spare".  I rushed to get the dogs out, about and fed before he arrived.

We headed downtown to Tim Hortons.  After we got settled with our beverages, I put in a call to our Sister, Donna, as it was her Birthday today.  It was kind of nice we both got to greet her at the same time, something most unusual.  After the Birthday phone call, Allan and I caught up a wee bit with our lives, and about Mom.  It had been some time since we had been together, so it was kind of nice, and a little bit of a  break from my normal routine.

Here is Allan just pulling out of our parking spot.  The German Shepherd? that is Gator who always goes along on the ride with Al.  Dog people we always have been, can you tell?

I was busy running around most of the morning after Allan dropped me back at home.  I finally got back home again after 11:00.  Once I had a bite to eat I had to do some Crabby Cabbie phone calls and a bit of paperwork before heading out after 2:15 pm to meet up with our driver before my Chiropractor appt. in Sauble Beach.

I had picked up my neighbour for her to go along on the ride with me to my appt. and back.  We took a brief trip down to the beach to see how Lake Huron was in respect of the ice.

Finally there was a bit of sand showing this week.  The Lake? I think it will be awhile before the ice breaks up.  The Gift Bowl? think the roof will need repairing before they re-open on the 1st of May this Year.  The last remnants of Winter linger on, and on, and on....

I didn't home, again, until after 4:00 pm, by that time it was time to think about Dinner.  I had a Pork Tenderloin out, and leftover Brown Rice, so what better to make then Mustard-Maple Pork Tenderloin with Vegetable Fried Rice.

Of course when I had Dinner on the go Rob got 2 calls to go out.  I managed to hold everything over for us to finally sit down to eat at 6:40 pm.

This Pork Tenderloin Recipe is never a disappointment, and Fried Rice? who can pass that up.

I had a problem with a Trojan Virus sending emails out from my Email Account.  Why can people not get a life instead of creating havoc on others by creating viruses?  I suppose this will always be the way of the World with these things, always someone else wanting to make others miserable.  I ran a new anti-virus program, as well as a Malware program, confident I got rid of it (I sure hope I did as I depend on my Internet for Social Networking and Business).

I have had lots of suspicious emails from family and friends in the past as such, but have learned to delete them over the Years.  I have been "caught" a couple of times throughout the years as I am sure most people have.

On that note, I think I will call it a night here, as I am pretty certain tomorrow will be bringing another busy day for me, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Melt In Your Mouth

Okay okay okay, when will I catch a break?  I am thinking I have to sit down and make a plan for my weeks.  This day go here and there to collect photos for the Volunteer Work for the WDCC, one day to spend with a friend, one day to do paperwork, and the rest to clean and organize my life.  There is one problem with this working for me ... there is never any consistency in our life with the beloved Husband having his own business !!! and puppies on the way in April.

Plan "B" ?  carry on the best I can and not worry about it any more (easier said then done, is it not, and me not worry???? hahahaha ).  Overwhelming? at the best of times I readily admit.

Anyhow my day seemed as busy as usual with more running around this morning.  This afternoon I had a 3:30 pm appt in Sauble Beach with the Chiropractor, then it was time for a bit more of this and that before returning home to get our Dinner on the go.

I had received some "Happy Mail" today, and a LOT of mail that will be good for starting the Wood Stove with.

Thanks to my Auntie Gladys & Uncle Basil for the lovely Birthday Card & Timmies GC (I always like receiving & enjoying a Birthday Card prior to my birthday, don't you?).  The stack of envelopes in the last photo? those were all from Bell Canada telling me what changes I made to each and every one of our personal & business mobile phones.  Crazy waste of paper are my thoughts, but like I said burnable.

I was tired by the time I did get back home late this afternoon, however I had been looking forward to making this "Melt in your Mouth" Mustard-Maple Pork Tenderloin since yesterday.  I got to it ...

Once the cooked Tenderloin was resting I made the Maple-Mustard Sauce for it.  Oh my this recipe is not only simple to make, but oh so truly "melt in your mouth" tasty.  One of my favourites.  Perfect timing with Maple Syrup Season just having begun.

This morning I could have stayed warm and cuddled in my bed all day long.  I am going to try and go for that same feeling again tonight, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Lots OF Elbow Grease !

This morning, once all my Aussie chores were over with and I finally got to sit down to a "first" coffee, I browsed through to read my Blogs Of Interest.  I was thrilled to find out Michelle at Ms. enPlace had featured one of my recipes again at her "See Ya In The Gumbo".  Thank you, Michelle it is always a pleasure not only to participate in your "See Ya In The Gumbo", but dropping in on all your posts to see what's cooking in your part of the World down in Louisiana.

"The Healthy Oatmeal Orange Cookies I had made were featured HERE.  By the way they are very Yummy."

The remainder of my morning I got going on the vicious circle of housework.  The Electrolux Ergorapido Rechargeable I had purchased last Year no longer holds a charge.  I LOVE it, however not really prepared to pay $100.00 or so to replace it at this time.  I called Electrolux Canada to see if something could be done.  I was very pleased to find out if I would send them the "Model/Serial" number silver tag off it, along with a letter to explain the problem along with my address, they would send me out another Unit !  I sure hope this will be the case, as the letter goes out in the mail tomorrow.  Won't this be fantastic if it comes to be? I sure will be one "Happy Camper" !!!

"Once I had addressed the Stick/handheld problem, I had to tackle another problem in our fridge. I guess when I had bought ground beef on sale last week the packaging had leaked.  Oh man by the time I had noticed it way at the back of the shelf it had dried up as hard as a rock.  Hot water and dish soap went in the sink and I started "scrubbing".  What a mess and  "Lots of Elbow Grease" to get it cleaned up."

This afternoon the Forever Home owner for Fabulous Four, Lunette, came by to see her for the very first time.  She is unable to take her for another two weeks, but was anxious to meet Lunette in puppy person.  There was lots going on with the Fabulous Four this afternoon, should anyone be interested just *click* HERE.

It was very late afternoon, probably around 5'ish by the time I finished up with more Aussie duties and Rob arriving home shortly thereafter when I had to get going on putting our Dinner together.  I made a Dinner of Mustard-Maple Pork Tenderloin that I had tried once before we had both enjoyed.

"Mustard, Salt & Pepper rubbed into the trimmed pork tenderloin, then seared to brown on all sides before being placed in a 425*F Oven to finish for 15 minutes or so."

"Once cooked the loin was set to "rest" while I put together the sauce.  I can honestly say this meal is yet another "favourite" for us."

"There was one "little", or should I say, "big" problem.  My dear Rob, who eats almost everything, tried a wee bit of the sauce and didn't like it ... as you can tell in his pictures.  No problem as I loved it, so it was more for "moi" for a change."

I heard a nasty rumour that there is to be SNOW tomorrow !  Really? really does everyone not think there has been totally enough snow this Winter already?   Oh wait a minute, it is Spring !!! what the heck is going on here ??? Ha ! if we held the reins to the weather I am certain it would not be so challenging.

Oh man ! here it is after 8:30 pm already with me still having to take Buddy out for his walk about and it is dark out there.  I best be getting a move on, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".
