3 Weeks Today

I just realized yesterday that as of 3 weeks today we will be with our youngest Son, Paul, and he will be married the next day.  I am not only over the Moon excited, I am still not prepared !

My niece, Joanne, has graciously offered to come stay the weekend at our house.  I can not remember the last time Rob and I have been overnight somewhere together without one or another of our Aussies.  But really 2 nights in a row ? that is unheard of !!!

I seen a really nice bracelet today downtown at The Painted Turtle & Balloon Headquarters, that might go with my wedding attire.  My friend, Wenda, who owns the store told me to bring down the dress and shoes to see what we can get a perfect match on.  Now to find time to do this !

Two weeks from now I will be getting highlights put in my hair.  The day before we leave I will be having a mani and pedi by a friend here in Wiarton.  I also am to make a double round carrot cake for the Wedding topper.  I hope to get those made soon and into the freezer.

I picked up some very pretty hair combs for the little girls hair.  I had found them downtown at Wiarton Bluebird Flowers. New owner, Christina, is a lovely person, drop on in to meet her if you have not yet done so.  Also what was a lovely surprise that she also carries Ecuador Roses !! find out more about them by *clicking" HERE.  If you have never had the pleasure of having an Ecuador Rose in your home, treat yourself to their long lasting beauty.

My Auntie Gladys has made it a generous habit of "special" occasion gifting a single Ecuador Rose on many many an occasion to her numerous friends and family members over the years.  Nice touch, Auntie.

About 4 or 5 years ago, really I think it has been more like 6, I began playing a Word Game on Facebook against a young man who lives in Ireland.  Dave is in his early 30's, and has been attending College the past couple of years.  I have taken an interest in following how his schooling has been going from time to time.  Just recently Dave had worked very hard on a project of creating a video for one of his final projects for term end this Year.  This video took quite some time to create.

I was very "WOWED" by how Dave's video spoke out in a very touching display of what once could have been or was a very real tragedy.  I am pleased to share Dave's product of his very hard work, The Forgotten ....

What an amazing moving video you have created Dave ! and I am honoured for you having had share it with me.

Should you have to mark Dave's video, what kind of mark would you give him with 50 being a pass?

I am pleased to say I got MOST of the bathroom cleaned today between running here and there.  All left to clean is the bathtub, as the floors and everything else has been washed down and cleaned.  I am getting better then my usual only 1/2 done I am proud to say.

I am not going to jinx myself by saying what I plan or not plan to do tomorrow, and that is how I will leave it, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Wee Wiarton Willie, Quilts & Kindness

Did I sleep last night? part of the night, and part is much better then none in my books.

I had fabulous plans to get the bathroom cleaned and floors washed today.  Yes that most certainly did NOT happened as I was, once again, sidetracked.  Being sidetracked is something that is not unusual in my daily routine, or lack of one I should say.  Sadly by 1 pm my pockets of energy had been beyond depleted and I found myself on the couch the remainder of the day.

When I had been "out on tour" on errands within our Town of Wiarton, I detoured down to the Wiarton Chamber Office.  Much to my surprises, wee Wiarton Willie, was not only out, he also came .....

... running towards me, as to say, "good morning", however I knew the reality was more, "do you have any carrots or zucchini"?  What a cutie now his has "blown" his Winter cost and now adorning his almost Summer dudes.

Where does Wiarton Willie reside?  right beside the Wiarton District Chamber of Commerce office in Bluewater Park, at 402 William Street, Wiarton, Ontario.  Need a map? check it out HERE.

Should Wiarton Willie not be out, do not fear as Wiarton has lots to offer with its beautiful Bluewater Park overlooking Colpoy's Bay with a downtown that has lots to offer in the way of shops and stores, and not to forget there is one very unique shop tucked away behind Berford Street, on Louisa, more about that can be found by *clicking* HERE..

The WDCC supports many of its members with their own Facebook Pages, or otherwise, on their Facebook Page, which can be found by *clicking* HERE.  Remember, should you have a Facebook account, and go to LIKE a Facebook Page, such as the Wiarton one, also click on the LIKES down arrow to select NOTIFICATIONS, so you can be updated to new posts from that page.

I recently lent Rural Rootz, Wiarton, some Quilts I have been gifted over the years for their 4th Annual Show the theme is "Piece On Earth" to raise money and awareness for Sleeping Children Around the World http://www.scaw.org/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/3443455153/

One of the pieces I had lent them to put on display was a quilted bag made by my friend, Carla.  I contacted Carla after doing so to ask her for some of her new Business Cards that I could ask be displayed with her creation.  Well I not only received Business Cards from Carla in the mail today, it also included some "happy mail" for me too.

I got this beautifully made "Mug Rug" made with love by Carla.  Yes Carla also has a Facebook Page, which can be found by *clicking* HERE.

Should you have a chance to attend the Annual Quilt Show at Rural Rootz, I am pretty certain you will not be disappointed.  More information on this? please *click* HERE.

I challenge myself, and others to perform one (1) Act of Kindness a day for the rest of the Year, as unfortunately...

Good-Night

I began my day with going to put the coffee creamer up into the cupboard shelf.  I must say my day got on much better then that blooper.

Mid-morning Rob dropped me off to pickup our van at the garage (yes, here we go again), then I headed on over to Port Elgin to drop it off to be detailed before the Wedding.  Yes it was a Winter mess with salt stains and more which needed a good cleaning.

Our Crabby Cabbie driver, John, collected me and dropped me off to meet my friend, Brenda, in Southampton.  We had a great visit and light lunch at the Walkerhouse.

By the time I had picked up my van, headed home, making a couple of stops on the way, it had been 2 pm before I had gotten here.

I must say I had one very excited individual to was happy I had been in my own bed this morning .....

My blogger friend, Karen, of Living in My Valley, was true to mention about taking 48 hours to recover.  This is what I have been telling people how myself, and others like myself feel.  An article on it can be found HERE.

On that note I truly need to call it a night, so good-night, as I am beyond tired, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Home Again

I just arrived home again about 30 minutes ago from my mini trip down South.

Last night I stayed at Paul & Liz's, leaving there this morning around 6:45 am, after being awake from 5 am or so.  I landed in back at my sister's with Tim Horton's coffee shortly after 7 am.

We had a great visit before I had to head back home just after 3:15.  I made it back through Southampton to fuel up, ending up back in Wiarton at 6:15 pm, to grab a coffee at Tim Horton's to take along to a 6:30 pm meeting at the Chamber office.

I got home to a lovely Dinner made by my Rob of homemade burgers and potato salad.  What a nice surprise.

Am I exhausted? darn right I am and I have a feeling it will be "crash" time the next couple of days ahead which I can not afford, but will make the best of.  I am happy to be back home,  Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Bit Of A Visit

I was in bed really really early last night, not even hearing the downpour of rain which was evidenced this morning by a couple of very large puddles in our driveway.

Up I got to do the Aussie requirements at the start of the day, then to sit and enjoy a coffee.  My van was loaded up and off I headed about 8:30 am South towards Kitchener, arriving at my sisters at 10:30 this morning.  We had a great visit before I headed out to meet a friend at 1:30 pm.

I met up with my friend, and we headed over to meet up with Alex who gave me a reading this afternoon, with a bit of insight into Life.  After that was done with I headed to New Hamburg to hang out with the Grandgirls, Chloe & Briar.  Josh was busy playing guitar when I had arrived but we had ourselves a minuscule visit.

I prepared a Dinner of Cook's Ham, Baked Potatoes and Green Beans for our Dinner.  It was a late dinner as Paul never got home from work until 7 pm.  Needless to say there wasn't a speck left on the kid's plates as they were hungry but that time.  We will have some watermelon as a bedtime snack.

Our Liz works 12 hours shifts at the hospital, and is on a day shift, however should land back here at 8 pm or shortly after.  She will be too tired for much of a visit, but I am pretty tired myself.

The girls had gone up to the Grocery Store with me to get potatoes and veggies for dinner.  Once we got out at the store they realized for the first time that Poppa Rob's picture was on the Van within the Crabby Cabbie logo.  That had been a cute moment.

Tomorrow I am going to have another bit of a visit with my sister, Donna, then head on back North to my hubby and Aussies, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Something NEW In Town

For those who were curious if I had gotten any deals yesterday at Josie's of Wiaton's 16th Annual Apartment Sale, well it just so happens I did so ...

I absolutely LOVE this white lace cotton overlay on black, and a light 3/4 sleeve cotton sweater.  What is leaving my house? everything pictured in the back seat of my Van goes down the road tomorrow, and then some that has yet to be loaded in.  Slowly but surely some day I will get there.

Early this morning Rob headed down to the City, while I thought I would get started on some more clutter cleaning and other cleaning.  About mid-morning I had to head into Owen Sound getting back after the lunch hour.  By the time I returned back home any energy pockets I had stored were all but depleted.

I did have myself some amusement this afternoon put on by a certain Portia towards poor old Bandit.  He has LOTS OF PATIENCE he does so.

Rob called me about 3 pm.  I met him over at Naves Garage in Sauble Beach to drop off our van for some maintenance issues (always something every week with one or another our vehicles).  When we got back into town we made a couple of stops.

There is something NEW in Town .....

The Berford St. Artisan Co. has recently opened in the old Home Hardware store downtown Wiarton.  As you first walk in you will be tempted right off the bat with some yummy London Ice Cream, and yes it is tasty and creamy.  As you move forward there is unique handmade jewellery, knitted treasures, pottery and paintings, and then Beewax products and much more by The Farmer's Daughter.

Also great new ideas for your home or to give as gifts.  Still spaces available for interested Artisans by contacting Paul Deacon at berfordstartisan@gmail.com.  10'x6' areas incl. utilities, Studio Area still available, Flexible Rates (weekly/monthly).

The new sign should be going up soon to bring the people in !!  spread the word.

Now if I was artsy, I would be very tempted to take a space with the Berford St. Artisan Co.

Since my pockets of energy are all gone, I will be hitting the shower and soon after my bed, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Saturday Adventures

This morning I had decided I was going to check out Josie's of Wiarton's 16th Annual Apartment Sale, as I had never been in the almost 12 years I have been back living in Bruce County.  It was from 9 am til 5 pm, I believe I had arrived around 9:30 or shortly thereafter.

Josie, herself, was manning or should I say, "womaning" the cash register down on the main floor while ladies were waiting to head up stairs to the Apartment Sale.  Only 25 persons at a time were allowed up there to comply with fire codes.  Still the wait was pleasant as there are so many lovely things within the doors of Josie's of Wiarton.

Up the stairs I went to where Josie's daughter, Ana, was helping to assist and there had been a lineup to try items on.  There were many articles of "name brand clothing" items at discounts up to 55% off in various sizes from xs to xxl.  Something pretty much for everyone I would say.  I enjoyed my time spend at the sale, and would not hesitate to going back for the 17th Annual Apartment sale next year.

More on Josie's of Wiarton? please *click* HERE or HERE.

I stopped to smell the roses admire some of my flowerbed perennials today, something I should do more often.  I even took time out to play a little throw the ball with Lexus.

More on my Saturday adventures ....

An finally reflecting on photos of yesterday my son, Paul, had sent me by text message ....

Any resemblance between Son & Mother?  surely my tongue is not as big as his I would think.

I just returned from a walk with my friend, Lynn.  Time goes so much nicer when you have someone to walk and talk with, does it not?  She went 6777 steps with me out of my 12277 total for this day.  Thanks Lynnie I always love catching up with you, and enjoy the walk too.

I also managed to do a bit more decluttering.  Even though it had only been a bit it had still been something, and besides it took me months for it to get this bad, it will take as much time to undo it I would think, or hopefully less should my pockets of energy be more then less.

That pretty much sums up my Saturday Adventures this day, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.
