A Change For Me

Rob was out the door before 7 am this morning, with me not too long behind him just after 7:30 am.  He went in one direction while I headed the other way towards Owen Sound, as I had a hair appt. at 8:30 am bringing on a change for me.

I had my appt. at Shear Experience with Susan, who I loved when she had cut fixed my hair a couple of months ago.  I was going to get foils to highlight my hair for the upcoming wedding (ONLY 9 days away).

I absolutely LOVE how my hair was done.  Just think it didn't seem that many years ago I was much much more "natural" blonde then what these highlights gave me.

Now the debate is on as to whether I leave my hair down for the wedding or have it pinned up?  anything thoughts?

After being in the chair for over 2 1/2 hours this morning I was in quite a bit pain and discomfort in my neck, and truly the pouring rain did not help with other body parts or the headache.  I was happy when I was done and got to meet up with my friend, Sharon, for a coffee afterwards.  She was very kind enough to lend me her silver clutch to go with my wedding ensemble.  Thanks Sharon.

This afternoon after I arrived home at 1 pm I had a 3 hour crash on the couch, so needless to say nothing but the bed was made today.  This evening I attended a Business After Hours event at Chamber Member, Rural Rootz.  A lovely venue and a "must see" if you are in the area.

Dianne Adams, a just new Wiarton Chamber Member, who does Yoga, as well as a variety of other healing arts, had been giving mini demos of Tai Chi massage to people in attendance this evening.  Dianne teaches at the Rural Rootz "Tree House".

Rob had a mini massage, and really found relief in the short time Dianne generously afforded him.  Thanks Dianne !

We had fun at the Business After Hours.  Here is my friend, Wenda of The Painted Turtle and Headquarters styling it up.  Can you see Dianne? matching up her yoga pants with Wenda's top?  too much fun !  I also won a door prize of a $20.00 Gift Certificate from Luscious Bakery & Deli in Wiarton  ... whoohoo !

We did not arrive home until after 8 pm this evening.  Needless to say I am very tired and almost ready to call this day a "wrap", Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Wee Wiarton Willie, Quilts & Kindness

Did I sleep last night? part of the night, and part is much better then none in my books.

I had fabulous plans to get the bathroom cleaned and floors washed today.  Yes that most certainly did NOT happened as I was, once again, sidetracked.  Being sidetracked is something that is not unusual in my daily routine, or lack of one I should say.  Sadly by 1 pm my pockets of energy had been beyond depleted and I found myself on the couch the remainder of the day.

When I had been "out on tour" on errands within our Town of Wiarton, I detoured down to the Wiarton Chamber Office.  Much to my surprises, wee Wiarton Willie, was not only out, he also came .....

... running towards me, as to say, "good morning", however I knew the reality was more, "do you have any carrots or zucchini"?  What a cutie now his has "blown" his Winter cost and now adorning his almost Summer dudes.

Where does Wiarton Willie reside?  right beside the Wiarton District Chamber of Commerce office in Bluewater Park, at 402 William Street, Wiarton, Ontario.  Need a map? check it out HERE.

Should Wiarton Willie not be out, do not fear as Wiarton has lots to offer with its beautiful Bluewater Park overlooking Colpoy's Bay with a downtown that has lots to offer in the way of shops and stores, and not to forget there is one very unique shop tucked away behind Berford Street, on Louisa, more about that can be found by *clicking* HERE..

The WDCC supports many of its members with their own Facebook Pages, or otherwise, on their Facebook Page, which can be found by *clicking* HERE.  Remember, should you have a Facebook account, and go to LIKE a Facebook Page, such as the Wiarton one, also click on the LIKES down arrow to select NOTIFICATIONS, so you can be updated to new posts from that page.

I recently lent Rural Rootz, Wiarton, some Quilts I have been gifted over the years for their 4th Annual Show the theme is "Piece On Earth" to raise money and awareness for Sleeping Children Around the World http://www.scaw.org/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/3443455153/

One of the pieces I had lent them to put on display was a quilted bag made by my friend, Carla.  I contacted Carla after doing so to ask her for some of her new Business Cards that I could ask be displayed with her creation.  Well I not only received Business Cards from Carla in the mail today, it also included some "happy mail" for me too.

I got this beautifully made "Mug Rug" made with love by Carla.  Yes Carla also has a Facebook Page, which can be found by *clicking* HERE.

Should you have a chance to attend the Annual Quilt Show at Rural Rootz, I am pretty certain you will not be disappointed.  More information on this? please *click* HERE.

I challenge myself, and others to perform one (1) Act of Kindness a day for the rest of the Year, as unfortunately...

Busy But Amazing & Fun It Was

Did I begin this day in an early to me usual manner? of course I did at 5:00 am.  Am I tired now? of course I am but it was a good day as I have finish up another busy day, however it was amazing and fun ....

I had an invite to get together with a friend over at Rural Rootz in Wiarton (drop in on their website to see them yourself by going HERE, as I guarantee you will not be disappointed).  Somewhere I have passed many times in the past 10 years, however never getting around to stopping in at.  Really could anyone believe I never got around to stopping in somewhere in my Community? that is amazing in itself, is it not?

Once my first commitment of the day was completed, I headed out to Country Road 13, which is the way you would head over to Oliphant from Hwy 6 at the top of the Wiarton North Hill ... very easy peasy to find and get to.

Once I arrived at Rural Rootz, I headed up the windy road into the forest towards a visit with my friend, Janet of soulsearchingtree.com.  Some might remember seeing Janet on my blog posts a couple of times before, most recently this past Spring 2013 HERE.  We had a really great visit, and I am looking forward to when we can have another.

Not only did I have an amazing and fun visit with Janet, I also had the pleasure of meeting Dianne Adams.

Dianne is getting to be quite well known  about & about in South Bruce Peninsula by her "Strike a Pose".  Janet and I "struck a pose" for Dianne today, however we are yet to see the photo she took.  YIKES it could be scary !!! but it really was fun at the time.  Dianne has a brand new Yoga DVD she has just released ~ YOGA with Dianne Adams, "Stretch & Flow" ~.  For a copy of Dianne's DVD, please give Janet a call out at Rural Rootz the next month at 519-534-2522.  Copies are only $15.00 each.  You can easily follow Dianne on Facebook by doing so HERE.

The remainder of the day was spend in travel by representing the "Crabby Cabbie" out and about Wiarton.  I went to a couple of places that I was familiar with, and not too familiar with.

Once place I was being "watched" very carefully, while at the other it seemed as if I was all alone other then a "hole" way out yonder.

I am certain the Sunshine in the above photo is quite noticeable, however most of the late afternoon had been getting intermittent periods of wet cold snow, with no exception at the moment this late in the day.  Between wet snow and hail, it really has been another much cooler day.  I am so NOT ready for Winter.

Since I did not get home until late afternoon, I had been grateful that I had leftover cooked chicken thighs in the fridge.  What to do with these leftovers?  easy peasy ....

... chopped up fresh leeks and onion sauteed in a bit of oil, added to turnip and carrot that I had cooked up within 15 minutes in the Pressure Cooker, along with some Cauliflower, all mixed together with the chicken and a jar of turkey gravey, topped with a mixture of Bisquick and ....

... voila' a very tasty Dinner of Chicken Pot Pie was served up in just over an hour's time of combined prep and cooking times.

Today I had made plans in my head to visit with Janet, go to my other meeting in Hepworth, head over to Sauble Beach to visit with my girlfriend, Colleen, then drop in with some Kleenex for my Mom, before returning home to clean.

Have I learned yet NOT to make plans in my head or otherwise since it never fails that my "Crabby Cabbie" husband usually has a way to change them up on me, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".
