Rusty LOVES Puppies

I am thinking already that our little Portia girl is getting spoiled only into her second week home with us.  The thing is it is not just me doing the spoiling as when Rob came home at 3 am this morning, he took her out of her crate cuddling her in his arms and took her outside to relief herself.  Now if he hadn't been cradling her I might have thought different *smile*.

I never did get back to sleep and got up at my usual 6 am.  I headed on downtown early to go to the bank, thinking I would see how bad the fog was down by the bay as it was really soupy out at our place.

Yes it was extremely soupy with fog, especially for the fisherman out for the 27th Salmon Spectacular Derby.   Who had not been long out of the water that I had run into, was my own brother, Allan.  He left his truck and boat and went along with me to grab a coffee at Tim Hortons.  That had been a short, however pleasant visit.

I was busy getting a few things organized, along with some paperwork off the dining room table.  There seems to be NEVERENDING paperwork !!!  I attempted to get things organized for the arrival of our grandsons tomorrow.  Did I mention how EXCITED I am about that????

On one of our many many trips out into the yard, Portia and I had came across this caterpillar.  I am thinking it is going to be a very pretty white and black one when it eventually emerges from its cocoon.  It had been right in front of Portia ... thank goodness she hadn't seen it or it might not have been no more.  There is LOTS of unique looking Moths around this Summer.

Since it was such a lovely day with no rain, I thought it might be a perfect day to invite Rusty and his Forever Home Family over to meet Portia.  For those who might not know, Rusty is from our Everything 8 2013 Litter (Buddy & Mercedes).  Rusty LOVES puppies.

By the time I had taken these photos, they had romped themselves out.  I just LOVE when Rusty comes to visit cause I get the most amazing kisses !

While I was getting Dinner ready my sister, Jeanne, called to see what I had been up to as they were down at the Wiarton Docks fishing.  After we were done eating I called her and told her I would go down for a quick visit with her and Cecil.

I took Portia along so she could also meet Cecil and Jeanne.  Their Grand-Doggie, Pixi, will have her nose out of joint when she gets a whiff of Portia when they got back home.

Jeanne and I went for a short walk out on the pier while Cecil stayed behind.  What a lovely Summer evening (finally).

I LOVE the Bruce Peninsula and so blessed we are able to live here.

Tomorrow I have a very big day ahead of me, as matter of fact I will be having a very busy week ahead of me, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Ontario Blogger's Day ~ 2nd Annual

Today is Celebration of the 2nd Annual Ontario Blogger's Day.  The talent is amazing throughout the World, however I am amazed how much so here in my very own Province of Ontario.

Blogging for me has really opened up the World, with meeting so many wonderful new friends along the way.

I decided I would reserve this day once a Year to recognize Ontario Bloggers, as myself, who are scattered about this Province I have lived my whole life in.  Before I introduce those who have joined me here this day, let me tell you a little more about where I live, even though most of you know it is "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".

Should anyone be a long time visitor to the Bruce Peninsula, they might know what "North of the Checkerboard" means ... you do not know?  Just *click* HERE for the best explanation going in my "Neck of the Woods".  Not to many months ago Wiarton had been renamed the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, but for many of us we will always be Wiarton.

What has put Wiarton on the Map of Ontario to make it "shine" every February 2nd?  Let me tell you, should you not have already met the little guy responsible.

I am pleased to introduce you to Wiarton Willie, up close and "almost" in person.  Not only a Celebrity in his own right, but a real cutie too !  Wiarton Willie even has his very own Facebook Page, check it out HERE.

You also will find in Wiarton's  Bluewater Park a Monument in Memory of all the Willies who made Wiarton Proud since 1956.

You can not Celebrate at the Wiarton Willie Festival without some Official Wiarton Willie Gear !  A must stop  would be to see Koreen at RAM Trophies and Sports downtown Wiarton, who would be pleased to "fit" you up.  RAM Trophies & Sports can also be found on Facebook HERE.

RAM also is the only place the Crabby Cabbie ever goes to have his logo professionally done on his Crabby Gear.

The whole town of Wiarton has been decked out in anticipation of the Wiarton Willie Festival, which will be launched the weekend beginning January 31st, 2014 (which just happens to be my dear Rob's Birthday, so this day I could never forget).

My Crabby Cabbie will also be zipping around town on the Wiarton Willie Festival Weekend, so if you need a Taxi give him a call !!!  Looking for a list of Events and Schedule for the 2014 Wiarton Willie Festival?  please do so at the Official Wiarton Willie Facebook Page HERE, or the website HERE.

Personally I am truly looking forward to the Wiarton Willie Experience myself this upcoming Year.  I have been invited this day to do the Photography for the Social Media Press Release (a further post on this fun hub bub will follow), so hence the early post this day.

Truly I love living on the Bruce Peninsula.  There is much much more being offered by living here then the Wiarton Willie Festival, even though that is a highlight in itself.  Here is another glimpse of my World that is located a hop skip and a jump from where I live ...

Lovely isn't it ? one of my Son, Paul's favourite spots to go when he comes home to visit.

For a little History on "NORTH OF THE CHECKERBOARD" , who do not already know, to find out please *click* HERE.

I truly do enjoy what each and everyone had to contribute to this day, and I am looking forward to hosting another Ontario Blogger's Day next January 17th 2015.

A Lovely Break In My Day

5:00 am came early when I woke, however it must have seemed very late to Rob when he arrived home at 3 am this morning.  I did get up and going by 6 am, and out the door right after 8:00.

Once I arrived back home after the run I did for my Crabby Cabbie, I got going on another attempt at some housework around here.  Pffttt .. that most certainly did not last long as I received a text from my Niece, Joanne, that her daughter, Erica, and new husband, Tamber, were up visiting and they were downtown Wiarton.  Lunch? of course how could I refuse Lunch at the Green Door Cafe.

Lunch? it was far from a disappointment, as if it ever would be.  Joanne had the Toasted Clubhouse Sandwich with a side of Caesar Salad, Erica had the Cabbage Rolls with the Caesar Salad, and I had the Ginger Chicken Salad with fruit and Poppyseed dressing.  Tamber had boring Fish & Chips.  Actually the girls who work at the Green Door were surprised I did not have the Loaded Chicken.  Time to change up things it was, and start watching my waistline a bit more, and I don't mean watch it grow any more !!!

Next stop was the Rankin River Trading Company, where you can see Fall is in the Air.

After we had stopped in at Lloyd's Smoke Shop & Pool Hall for Erica and Joanne to have a Homemade Ice Cream Cone, we sauntered up the street a bit further where we came across ....

... a whole bunch of cuteness.  Is she not absolutely adorable???  the Senior lady who owns her told us her name is "Randy", as they had thought she was a boy when they had first gotten her.  Whatever the name, she is a doll !

Next stop was the Ruins of the Corran at Spirit Rock.  Picture taking time with lots of fun poses.

At the Lookout overlooking Colpoy's Bay, we went down the spiral stairs below the escarpment.  Down, down, down .... towards the edge of Colpoy's Bay.

Truly I am surrounded by a wee piece of Heaven where Rob and I have chosen to make our home back here in Bruce County at the Gateway to the Bruce Peninsula, between Lake Huron & Georgian Bay.

When you are on the Bruce Peninsula keep an eye below for Poison Ivy, and above for Planes.  There is always something to take notice of on the Bruce Peninsula.

When I got back home did I get any more housework done? absolutely not !!!  Those spiral stairs wore me right out, and besides tomorrow is another day, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".
