A Surprise Visit

Did I sleep well last night? not really as I am certain I dreamt weird dreams all night long.  When speaking to another friend today I found out she had also had a full night of weird dreaming too.  Is it any wonder we are tired in the mornings when we think we have been sleeping all night.

I did lots of running around today doing errands ... my life seems made up of endless errands some days.

I had just arrived home and started to prepare some lunch when the dogs began barking, signalling that someone was here.  I looked out to see my Sister Jeanne's van in the driveway, so out I went.  

I had "a surprise visit" from my Great Great Niece Deja, her Mom Michelle, and my sister, Jeanne.  They were on there way up to see my Mother, Great Great Great Grandma.  She would have been happy for a surprise too I am sure.

I got lots of amusement from Miss Deja for the time I had to see her.  Hopefully next time we can have ourselves a proper visit.

Once they had gone their way to visit Grandma Masterson, Rob had himself a lunch of homemade ham veggie soup, and I had a fantastic salad with Berry Balsamic dressing and a leftover Moose Burger.

My afternoon was not too eventful as I was not only tired but freezing cold.  The winds have been blowing and the air very cold today.  Would someone please turn on the heat again?  yes, Rob did get a fire going in the Wood Stove to take the dampness and cold from the house.

I had a couple more late afternoon errands to do, then back home for a quick dinner at 5:30 pm.  I am all in but for my shirttail, but I am determined to stay awake to watch the elimination of contestants on this evening's episode of The "Voice", Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

A Little More On This & That

Going back to the Bridal Shower this past Saturday for my soon to be beautiful daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Anne ....

Liz's Matron of Honor, her Cousin Vivienne, booked a room at the Puddicombe House located downtown New Hamburg.  What a lovely place, but then again I LOVE the character of the older homes.  At one time this had also been apartments.

The open-face Chicken Salad was the "special" they had put on for us this day.  The scallops, that look so mouth watering, were chosen off the menu as were some other lunch selections.  Desserts which were chosen by a few of us were the Orange Blood Beer Cheesecake (melt in the mouth so I was told), and a flourless Chocolate Cake with a scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream.  Everything was excellent to taste and well priced.

Liz with her Cousins, Vivi & Angela (who will be singing at the Wedding).  Vivi, Matron of Honor & Liz, then Liz's Mom, Jean & the two girls.

We all had such a wonderful afternoon together.

More on the Mother's Day Weekend ....

This is one mug, autographed by Chloe & Briar, for me the day after I had arrived.  It is so nice to have such delightful Granddaughters in our lives now.

Sunday morning, our grandson, Aiden, was telling me he would love to contact Adam Levine on the Internet to ask him come and play his song, "Sugar" for his dad and Liz's Wedding Day.  On Aiden's behalf I sent the Maroon 5 off a note, as follows:

And back to today ....

Yes I was busy trying to get "caught up" AGAIN.  I managed to get some laundry sorted and the bedroom somewhat organized, the fridge cleaned out, dishes done up and some vacuuming done, which was only a tiny bit of what really needs doing.  

Darn I sure do not know what had happened to the housekeeper when I was out of commission for 3 days, and gone away for 3 days.  Difficult to find someone you can depend on any more, isn't it Honey Rob?

I did make a Fruit Salad today, and Rob made up some burgers from the Moose hamburg I had taken out of the freezer this morning.  Let me tell you we had an awesome dinner !

There is five contestants still on The "Voice" this evening, with a couple more to be eliminated tomorrow night.  The count down is on the next two weeks on who the WINNER of this Year's The "Voice" will be, and I do not plan on missing out on any of it, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

Happy Mother's Day

Here I am back at home, with some photos organized from last evening and today, but more of the Bridal Shower will have to be tomorrow.

Four of our Grandchildren who I was able to capture without them knowing last evening before Dinner.

Before Dinner Paul managed to bring in the Dishwasher out of my van, and thank goodness Rob had put the cart in for him or it might not have happened.  Liz's Mom, Jean, and Dad, Brian, brought over salad & burgers for dinner.  Jean was well greeted by Bandit upon entering, and Brian was soon helping Liz & Paul make room in the kitchen for the dishwasher.

We all had a great meal together last evening.  After Jean & Brian left for home Paul, Liz, the 4 kids, two dogs and I headed out for a big walk.

The kids enjoyed their Bikes, the dogs their walk, Liz and I the amazing Sunset, and then there was Paul taking over one of the girl's bikes .... *sigh* please Lord give Liz MORE strength after they marry.

I know I have had many, and still have, women in my Life that I have looked up to and respected as a Mother as well as my own Mother.  Thank you to all you special ladies for also being in my Life.

Bandit most certainly enjoyed all the attention he got over the weekend.  This was just this morning !  There is a video of him "playing dolls" with Chloe & Briar you may view by going over HERE.

After everyone was up, and Liz had came downstairs she was surprised by her Mother's Day gift from them all.

I was gifted the beautiful Yellow Mums, and the lovely Gerber Daisy the day before from Liz's Mom.  After everyone had showered & made ready we all headed downtown New Hamburg to meet Liz's Mom & Dad for a Mother's Day breakfast.

After I had parked I came across a couple also out having a morning breakfast brunch.

Paul even helped the waitress by going for the coffee pot to refill the Mother's cups.  A very nice gesture on his behalf (I trained him at a very young age).  I had to laugh at Chloe who was not only enjoying making bubbles in her chocolate milk, but also eating a lemon in between bubbles.

Thanks to Paul & Brian treating us all we not only had a great breakfast but lots of fun being together.

We got back to the house & I gather up my belonging to load them in the van.  Before heading out we got a few more photos....

We had a bit of a problem getting a photo of all of us as the Sun was very bright this morning.

Here are the Lovebirds of the Year.  

I left 23*C weather which turned into a damp, wet, rainy 11*C by the time I got into Wiarton.

I had an AMAZING Mother's Day Weekend with the kids, still speaking to Rob to keep him up to date at all times, but Bandit and I are tired and happy to be back home with him, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

What A Great Day !

My day started early, but that is normal for me.  Paul, Aiden, Bandit & I were out the door by 7 am headed for a coffee then onto Walmart in Kitchener.

We got back mid-morning.  Paul helped me wrap the wedding shower gifts for Liz before her Cousin arrived from Mississauga. This is the cousin who will be singing at their Wedding.

Just before 1 pm Liz's Mom, Jean, her Cousin Angela, and I swooped Liz out the door to a New Hamburg restaurant for her shower.  What a great day !  we never got back until going onto 5 pm.

Liz'a parents came over for dinner.  After they left the kids, dogs, Paul, Liz & I went for a big walk then stopped for ice cream on the way home.

I have tons of photos however it is late, and I am too tired to get them all organized, so they will come within the next couple of days, however in the meantime I do not want to disappoint you, my wonderful husband, Rob, by  posting not a one, so here you go ....

This is the shower gift from Liz's Mom, Jean.  A gazebo for their back deck.

This was a gift from myself, along with a Family Photo frame and stoneware pie plate.

Other then a bit tired Liz was a very happy girl, and so very much appreciated everyone being there for her and overwhelmed with the thoughtfulness of the gifts she received.

Oh my here it is after 10 pm, way past my bedtime and just think tomorrow is Mother's Day.

I am going to sign off for the night here, then give my hubby a call at home, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

LOVE Surprises !

This morning I didn't even make the bed or look behind me as I headed South down the road towards the makings of a surprise.  I LOVE SURPRISES, but better then that I LOVE surprising others.

I arrived in Kitchener about 10:30 am at my sister Donna's home.  We had a nice visit out on her patio in the shade, as it was the warmest day so far this Spring.  After our visit I headed out to New Hamburg to go see our kids.

Paul was at work, and Liz was sleeping after a 12 night shift at the hospital, so I got myself some lunch and hung out with Bandit in the park until she was up.  We had ourselves a coffee on the porch while we waited for the kids to come home from school.

Once Josh, Chloe and Briar arrived home us girls headed out for a walk with the dogs.  By the time we got home Paul was on his way with the boys, Aiden & Connor as it was their weekend to come visit.

Liz got dinner ready for everyone, but before we sat down for it, I asked them to come outside with me.

I got the really Mom, what's up "look" from Paul, as he was hot and tired from a long day at work.  Then it was from both Paul & Liz the "really" look, I can't believe it !

Not only were they both surprised the were also very happy Rob and I gifted them a Dishwasher for their Wedding Gift.

This is the reason Rob & I thought they should have their wedding gift early, as there is ALWAYS dishes needing doing at their house.

Once we were done dinner, and Paul had a quick shower the 8 of us headed out for a walk with Mercedes and Bandit.  It was nice to get out to walk with the balmy breeze.

The boys are getting themselves a sandwich for a bedtime snack, and then maybe we will watch a movie on Netflix. 

I am happy to be here with our kids, but I still miss my Rob who stayed behind, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

All Day Long

Yes I pretty much slept all day long.  I went to bed last night about 7 pm to wake up around 3 am with a sinus headache that made my head feel like it was going to explode.

I got up to take some meds, then again at 7 am for a coffee and water.  Back to bed I went.

I tried a bit of lasagna at lunchtime, and more water, before I slept the afternoon away.  I still have to have some dinner, but not quite ready for that yet for some reason.

Not much to be said when one is sleeping most of the day ... but another "blast from the past", Disco days in the 70's.

Warm thanks to all the well wishes for a speedy recovery, you can not imagine how much each and everyone meant to me.  Thank you.

I am off to scrounge something light for my dinner.  Scrambled Eggs maybe? then head back off to my bed, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.

So Far So Good

I was rocking the Day Surgery attire before 8 am this morning.  I should have these swifter booties at home for my floors I am thinking?  I wasn't too impressed as I was way too tired.

The Nurses at the Owen Sound Day Surgery dept. are absolutely wonderful.  There had been a few issues getting the IV in, as usual, however a nurse was found who did it almost painless for me.

Dr. Kaal's team were all fun and amazing.  Dr. Bell was the anesthesiologist who was very concerned and considerate.  I am sure since I was nervous of being awake for the procedure gave him cause to knock me right out... thank you !

Apparently I had a shunt put in the duct of my pancreas.  This is all I could gather but will  not know exactly until I have a followup with my own Doctor this month.  So far so good ....

I slept all day once Rob got me back home at 1 pm, and I am heading back to bed as soon as I can now as I am exhausted.

My Diet today consists of Orange Lollies, Cranberry Gingerale Cocktails, and Blueberry/Grape Jello, that Rob made me, and I made the mistake of eating the whole bowl as I was starving.  I am paying for it on the reflex end of it now.  Lasagna? I had received a text on my way in this morning from Marg Reinhart to send Rob around this afternoon as she had made this for us.  Rob will  have some tonight for his Dinner, and am looking forward to some tomorrow.  What a super nice gesture that is so much truly appreciated.

Last night my Niece Stacey, sent me a photo on instagram.

Wow what a blast from the past !  this was taken about 20 years ago at my Niece Tamara's wedding.

I would like to say how much I appreciate everyone's support and well wishes.  

It was a comfort to see a familiar face prior to being wheeled into the procedure room.  Thanks Dianne ! xx    And I also seen another long time friend, who was there for different reasons, I must contact her hopefully tomorrow.

On that note I really need to go back to bed as I am exhausted to no end, and no wonder as I am certain I have had enough drugs in my system the past two days to knock out an elephant.  This is all she wrote, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.
