Another Wiarton Wednesday And ...

Last night found me exhausted this morning as I felt as I had barely slept a wink at all.  Pain was searing through my neck and other parts of my body.  I really can't remember me feeling this badly for some time, which is a good thing.  

Poor Rob had a call at 3 am from the OPP for him to go pickup some people over by Oliphant, so I am certain with his sleep disrupted he was feeling pretty tired too.  What a pair we make some days ... good thing we have each other, this I am thankful most always.

Apparently last evening was another Blue Moon.  Not have a high tech camera as some of my friends do, I was still able to capture a glimpse of it this early morning before it got started.  

This morning I headed up to Hope Baby to pickup these two lovely young girls who were having themselves an adventure by hiking the Bruce Trail from Wiarton to Tobermory.  They were have a break in the trail by having The Crabby Cabbie drive them from Hope Bay to Lion's Head where they would take up the trail again.  They were doing it as a project through the London YMCA Youth group.

When I returned from Lion's Head I had to get going on still more Crabby Cabbie stuff.  Really can I believe it ?????  Finally with that accomplished I managed to get a sink full of dishes washed up and my bed made.   All that was getting done around here today !!!

Heading down to meet Rob in Southampton was the next thing on my Agenda for my afternoon.

As I was about to pull out this little guy caught my eye.  The little fledgling that had been just out of the nest yesterday was hip hopping all around lickety split.  Way too cute.

When I finally arrived in Southampton Rob treated me to nice cold Fruit Smoothie at the Tim Hortons.  I had a Tangerine Mango I believe.  A little bit on the too sweet side for me, but now I have tried one and know.  Yes my poor tired Crabby Cabbie going over the paperwork I had brought down to him.  It had to be dealt with this day.

I left him behind as I headed back home again for about the 4th time this day.  When I got home our new Wiarton Driver, Jeff, had been in our driveway under a shade tree.  I had barely said "hello" to him when we had received a call from the Hospital to do a run.  I went along for the ride to show him the paperwork. Once done he dropped me back at home and went on his way, I had some Aussie time, then sat on my kester for a bit as it had been too hot to do anything butt but.  No pun intended .. *smile*.

Finally my Crabby Cabbie Rob arrived home.  Too hot to cook anything I thought I had better use up the leftover chicken I had in the fridge.  I decided to cook up some bacon and make him a Toasted Chicken Club Sandwich with Potato/Egg Salad on the side.

With dinner done and out of the way it had been after 7 pm by this time.  I had to run downtown if I was to take in the Entertainment for Wiarton Wednesday, especially since I knew some of the entertainers.

Entertainment at Wiarton's Berford Street Parkette was Ralph & Friends.  

Bob Love, Ralph Shular, Doug Sutherland, Brenda Sparks .....

... and Bob Corp were the people I knew, other then Lyle's daughter on Guitar.  It was a good night and they brought out lots of people who enjoyed their Old Time Country Tunes.

Before I knew it, it was 8 pm and time for Ralph & Friends to pack up.  I had to drop around to see my friend, then head it home to look after all the Aussies for the last time this evening.

9 pm found me sitting down reflecting back on this day, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".

Too Busy Is Getting To Be Too Busy

I was awake in the wee hours of the morning.  At 5:50 am I woke Rob to ask him what time he had to be up to go, and he replied, "in 10 more minutes if I would have been allowed to sleep that much longer".   Oops ! just thought I was being helpful.

Today I had to be out the door before 9 am as I was attending a bi-weekly Wiarton Chamber meeting.  Once that was successfully over, I headed into the local Foodland for some yummy grapes that are on sale this week for .97 cents a pound.  I LOVE grapes.  Then homeward bound to let our gang all out and about.

Speaking of letting our Gang all out and about, I was questioned why I do not just let out dogs out and let them stay out all day.  We have 2 males and 2 females.  The 2 unaltered males would fight, as do our unaltered females.  Yes I can let them off leash, but we are very close to Hwy 6.  After loosing one dog to this Hwy, I am very cautious as if one of our dogs should see a cat and run after it across the highway there would be nothing to prevent it from happening.  Tunnel vision.  Bandit and Mercedes were both house trained and I have no issues them running around as they do no their boundaries, as does Lexus who has only been crate trained.

Buddy is a completely whole different story.  We never raised Buddy from a puppy, having not gotten him until he was 16 months old.  Buddy is also a sprinter.  When we are outside I always have him on a leash as he might be gone out towards the highway in a blink of an eye, and really do I want to loose another dog on that highway? No.  

Australian Shepherds are very protective of their property, so should someone drive in Bandit, Lexus or Mercedes would be certain to run out towards the vehicle driving in so I always go out with our dogs.  Besides I am sure the exercise in, out and about really does not do me any harm either.

This afternoon I had to head down to Gateway Haven Nursing Home to measure Mother's waist, as I will be going out to get her new Capri this week, as well as a couple new tops.  I picked her up a Tim Horton's coffee and we also had a nice visit together.  Mother informed me that this year she is going to the Family Reunion, as well as spending her Birthday and Christmas with me this Year, as she is taking turns at my Brother's place and mine.  Last year it was my brother's place.  I told her she will have to live a long long time so she will have many many turns.  We had quite the laugh about this.

When I got back home I tackled the dreaded Crabby Cabbie books and completed another month's worth. Rob had been missing some paperwork so I will get at the rest of it hopefully this Friday.  By the time I had done that, and received a few phone calls it was time to get our Dinner on the go.

After Dinner my friend Gayle had came out to weed in the garden.  Hopefully I will be caught up on things to get out there myself this weekend, weather permitting of course.

I would also love a prayer or two sent upward for me that my Grandsons will be coming to spend the week of July 21st to the 28th with us this Year to attend VBS again.  They had so much fun with us last Year as you can see HERE.

This Year's Theme is Rocky Mountain Rescue.  I think it will be another fun week if they are able to come.

Families splitting up is so difficult.  Not only do the children miss out, so do the Grandparents.  Either they miss out by rarely seeing the Grandchildren, or get burned out by having them too much.  Regardless it is *sad* and has been breaking my heart many times over and over the past nine months.

On a more positive note, I enjoyed every minute I spent with them this past weekend.

Here it is 9 pm with my friend Gayle having just left from out in the Veggie Garden weeding.  It is so nice to have someone to "share" the garden with this year and help out.  The garden is looking good !

I do not know what it is but my too busy is getting to be too busy for me lately, or so it seems it is.

All the gang have been out and about for their last romp of the evening.  Rob is watching his favourite show, The Property Brothers, next fav to Love It or List It.  Me?  I am going to sign off and watch the rest of the show with him before calling it a night, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".

Wiarton Wednesdays

I could barely get my achy body out of bed this morning.  When I did it had not been until 7 pm.  I was grateful our gang allowed me to stay there as long as they had.

Our company rolled out this morning, while I headed out to drop off one of our Crabby Cabbie vehicles over to our mechanic.  Our Crabby Cabbie Driver, John, came to collect me to bring me back home.  One of the benefits of having a Taxi in Wiarton I suppose.

I was feeling a bit overwhelmed this morning with so much to be done in respect of the month end accounts to be billed out, the 2nd quarter to be figured out once the books are caught up from the last 2 months (yes I am behind again, but better 2 months then 3).

I tackled doing the accounts, then headed on out to hand deliver one and complete some errands downtown Wiarton after I had done so.  Tomorrow is Wiarton Wednesday, wherein the Crabby Cabbie will be participating, so I needed to pick up a few things.

July 3rd we have a great line-up of activities, the Dock will be on site and on air in the Pinkerton's parking lot alongside our musician of the evening Bruce Worthington. Bobbi Switzer from Edwards Outpost will also be downtown highlighting her renowned wood carvings.

And Shhh, we have a surprise that will be found in front of Givens Auto Marine ... Bring your appetite!

That being said if food is your thing the Wiarton Inn & Restaurant will feature a 2 can dine for $12.99 special from 4-6pm and have a gift card giveaway as well. Just a little correction on behalf of the Crabby Cabbie.  We will be giving away water for those who hopefully be wandering over to see us, and have a thirst on, as well as having a weekly draw for a Summer Item (photos will follow tomorrow you can be sure).

After my errands downtown were finished I returned home to give my Gang some of my undivided attention and have a bit of lunch.  

How did I spend the rest of my day .... cutting the lawn, which seems to take half a day at the best of times.

Supper tonight was very yummy, as well as Easy Peasy to make.  We had leftover pork tenderloin, so what else to do with it but ....

Caramelize Onions, add your favourite BBQ Sauce, throw in the leftover chopped pork, heat thoroughly then serve up on a fresh sliced Egg Bun alongside Homemade Potato and Egg Salad.

Was it good ... extremely good !

Here it is only 6:31 pm, what could I possible do once I have posted this entry.  Ah the back part of our yard still needs cut.  A coffee is going to come first, then I am off and running again, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.
