Phew ! Did Not Think ...

.... I was ever going to make it through this day all in one piece, but YES I conquered yet another !!!  I had another "bad" night's sleep seemingly feeling I never slept a wink all night.  Rob got up around 4 am to the washroom and asked what I was doing up.  There is no answer sometimes for not being able to sleep, is there?

I had all these big plans today, with only accomplishing 3 out of all.

When I got started on preparing to make the Fresh Peach Cake, I realized I had no Sour Cream.  That threw my morning off even more with an unexpected trip into town and back.  Off I went.

Back home I had the wet and dry all mixed for the cake ready when the phone rang.  It was our Wiarton Driver.  Would I go pick someone up as he was out of town on a run already.  I could not say "NO" to business now could I ??  Off I went.

I did manage to get back home to get the Peach Cake together and into the Oven.

Wet, met dry, then Fresh sliced Peaches was layered into the Batter, and topped with Cinnamon & Sugar.  50 minutes later there was a totally awesome Fresh Peach Cake cooling on my Counter Top.

For some reason I always put more of the batter on the bottom of the pan, then get it exactly half and half, but it mattered none.

Once the dishes and counter had been all cleaned up from the makings of the Cake, I got onto my next plan for today, Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Yes the combination of Peanut Butter, Oatmeal and Chocolate Chips are an all time "hit" in this household.

The last pan of cookies came out of the oven around 1 pm.  There was yet time for me to hit the shower then get ready for my third plan of the day.

Once ready our Wiarton driver, John, came around to collect me to drive me down to Southampton so I could go visit my Auntie Pearlina in the hospital with my Auntie Gladys.  Off I went.

My Auntie Pearlina is a real trooper.  I can not believe the stamina of this woman at 92 years of age, and never mind how wonderful her memory is !!!  She is easy to love, this is for sure.

Auntie Gladys and I had a real good visit with her for almost a good hour.  She had even been out of bed for a very very short walk today.  It was a good sign that nothing had been broken, which is a miracle in itself.  It was figured out she had been lying at home after her fall the night before all through the night, and thank goodness she had came too eventually and gotten somehow to the phone to dial 9-1-1.

Once our visit had came to an end, Auntie Gladys had dropped me over to Southampton's Tim Hortons Coffee shop where I met up with Rob so I could drive back home with him..  Home we came, both very tired souls to have ourselves a quick Dinner I made up of Potato & Egg Salad, and BBQ'd steak.

In remembrance of today being 9/11 a wonderful Tribute by the Budweiser Clydesdales:

Prayers for those families who lost their loved ones in 9/11.

This evening is the Grand Finale of the Master Chef, which I am not planning on missing out on.  Tomorrow will bring another day, and another day will bring more busyness to me again, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".

Ontario Tornado Watch

Did you know Ontario had a Tornado Watch website? well yes they do.  You may link up to their site by going HERE, or if you have a Facebook Account you may link in HERE.

Both these links are pretty important to have, especially on a day like we have been having today in Ontario.

My friend, Gillian, called me this afternoon to ask how I was doing as there were Tornado Warnings for the Bruce Peninsula today.  She is a couple hours further South in Ontario from us.  Right after I had hung up with her it the high winds and pelting rain began.  We, fortunately, did not loose hydro.  Good thing, eh Jane? as our brand new generator is still in its box.  At least we have one ... *Smile*.

It arrived in a "blink of an eye" lasting about 20 minutes.

The following photographs had been posted on Facebook this afternoon:

This photo had been shared by Explore the Bruce of  Wiarton at Claude & William Streets, across from the Foodland Store.

This photo had been posted by my girlfriend's daughter, Nikki Plante, of Lake Huron at the mouth of the Saugeen River in Southampton.

Mix 106.5 shared one of their listeners photos she submitted of the Beach at Southampton.

This photo had been posted by the Owen Sound Suntimes in Owen Sound this afternoon after it had gone through Wiarton and headed further South.

This had been the very beginning of it today at our place:

It has been intermittent all day long.  A half an hour ago there were reports from Wiarton of Hail stones pinging off a friend's vehicle.  It will eventually have to end soon,

Other then sweating bullets most of my day, doing some errands downtown Wiarton this morning, and trying to avoid Tornados the rest of the day, I did manage to make Dinner for Rob and I as well as a fresh Peach Pie this afternoon.

My friend, Abby Miners of Miners' Maple Products has made a new product she was inviting a few people to test it out.  I went down to see her at the Wiarton Farmer's Market this morning to pick a bottle.

With Miners' Maple Products, "Tropical Maple Glaze" I made Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast in the Slow Cooker which I poured the glaze over top while it cooked on LOW for 4 hours.

Rob's "take" on our dinner and the glaze?  He thought it was excellent.  Abby you  have another HIT on your hands in Rob's eyes again, but I still think the BBQ Chipolte Sauce is still his favourite.

Onto the fresh Peach Pie ....

Sugar, flour and Cinnamon blended, peach peeled and sliced, pie crust filled, topped and fluted.  Barely an hour later and I was taking Peach Pie out from the Oven to cool on my counter top.

Rob and I had a piece of this pie when it was still very warm.  Yum ... it was like eating a piece of Heaven I am certain.

Question I have asked myself a few times today ... am I ready for the Grandboys arrival for a week yet?  Answer:  Not even close.  I am pretty certain I will be having myself a very busy day tomorrow, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".
