Yes that was frost on the ground this morning... I am really praying it stays low as the Green Peppers have only began sprouting and I have had barely a small pony basket of ripe tomatoes off the 20 or so plants. I NEED tomatoes to stew for the Winter months ahead.
After I had the Aussie girls and boys all taken care of this morning I made my way over to Owen Sound to do the Saturday morning run. It just happens our 2001 Ford Windstar Taxi, aka "Old Blue" had been in with our mechanics who needed a CVR for it. Our local Carquest did not have one in, but was able to get one from the Owen Sound Carquest. Something was finally in our favour as I was going to be driving right by the part store with no problem picking it up. Timing is wonderful is it not?
Once back home Rob and I made our way downtown to do a couple of errands before going to pick "Old Blue" back up. She was our very first "Crabby Cabbie" vehicle we purchased 1 1/2 years ago, or should I say our Aussies purchased for us, and has almost 400,000 km on her now. Rob is kind of partial to her, and really doesn't want anyone else to drive her, just in case they do not go "easy" on her. He is hoping he gets another 100,000 km on "Old Blue" before he has to retire her.
This afternoon I spent doing a wee bit of paperwork, then picked some beets from the garden. Not much of anything was done this day as I am feeling exhausted, feeling like a wet wash cloth.
We finished up our Dinner of Garlic Sausage, New Potatoes and Beets, to sit back to enjoy a cup of coffee.
Tomorrow is the Potluck for Cindy's Recipe Exchange where a few of it's members are meeting up to have a luncheon together. I am really looking forward to tomorrow as I am pretty sure it will be a fun time with a great bunch of people.
I am preparing my Potluck item right now instead. I am confident we there will LOTS & LOTS of Desserts so I went with a snacky main course kind of dish with a Salsa Dip that will be heated through, hot & bubbly when I get there.
I am certain I will have lots of pictures of everyone's wonderful dishes on my post tomorrow night, so prepare yourself for some drooling moments.
Speaking of drooling, if you do not get a Seasonal Kraft "What's Cooking Magazine" in the mail, you are able to view them all online. Browse by Cover, then go to the digital magazine by going here:
I look forward to always getting my copy of the What's Cooking Magazine in my Mailbox four times a Year.
I think I am going to wrap things up here early this evening, along with taking the Aussies out and about as early as I possibly can, then hit the good old sack myself, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".
Hope you all have a great time. Wishing I was closer.
ReplyDeleteIt's that time of year when you don't know what to wear for the day, because it starts out cool, and can warm up... or not.
ReplyDeleteWe had a bit of a cool day here.
Our tomatoes all rotted on the vine...pathetic.
