Grateful For

I am very grateful for my husband, especially when he got up this morning, and I when go in to make the bed to find he has already made it for me.

He was even more thoughtful by allowing me more bedding on my side of the bed.
Thank you honey !

This morning I  had a bit of paperwork, as well as put a chicken stock on to simmer, then do a couple of errands after lunch to run downtown.

Imagine running into my Sister, Jeanne & Hubby, Cecil, downtown Wiarton at the Chinese Restaurant ordering lunch.  I think I surprised them when I stopped in and snapped their picture.

First thing this morning I had taken out a Turkey to cook tomorrow and chicken legs to make broth with today.  After simmering in all its goodness all day long, the broth was strained through a clean tea cloth, leaving 2 Dutch Ovens full of broth sitting in the fridge to set so I can skim the fat off tomorrow and freeze for soup  base.  Yummy .... Rob does love him some Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup.

This afternoon we had to make a trip into Owen Sound, so we thought it would be great for Lexus to have an outing with us.  In the back seat when Rob called her name her ears perked right up and in no time she was laying kisses on him.  Rob was enjoying every moment I might add.

We dropped into Walmart when we had been over in Owen Sound, however they were sold out of the Turkeys they have on sale for 79 cents a pound.  Hopefully if we have to go over there tomorrow they will have some more in.  What a cheap meal to make, and Rob could eat Turkey til the Cows came home.

It sure does not take long for a puppy to realize the best action happens in the kitchen, and then when that happens you really have their attention.  Portia is a quick study.  I think begging must come naturally for canines, don't you?  *smile*

Rob out did himself out at the BBQ again tonight.  Dinner was Out of this World full of flavour and tender beyond tender !

Yes today I am grateful for my husband who is so generous with his bed making, and his talent on the grill.  I must also say I am grateful for the wood he brought in so we could have a cozy fire in the wood stove to stave off the dampness of the rain we had most of the day on and off.

It was a good day, but I am most certainly looking forward to my bed, Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard.
