A Most Perfect Day !

How could a day not be perfect when it started with a kiss from my husband at 5 am to say good-bye before he left for work, when your almost 30 year old Son calls you at 6 am and sings Happy Birthday through the phone, giggling part way through, when your sisters, brother, step-daughter, sister-in-law and Auntie call to wish you a Happy Birthday, and the brother drops you off a large double cream Tim Hortons, when you get text messages from family members and friends, as well as over 200 Happy Birthdays between blog comments, personal emails and Facebook, when your husband shows up at lunch when you are not expecting him to bring you flowers and a Birthday Cake, when you get the most wonderful package in the mail you were not expecting from a Secret Sister, when a best friend shows up at your door with a Birthday Cake, when your husband takes you out for dinner.  And I just got off the phone from a call with our young friend, Nathan, all the way from Canberra, Australia ! who called to wish me a Happy Birthday.

"This was the very very BEST Birthday I have had in a long long time !"
It is late by the time we arrived home from a dinner of Chinese Buffet, cleaned out the puppies before their bedtime, and took all our adult "gang" out.  Tomorrow I will share some fantastic pictures from throughout my most wonderful Birthday, but in the meantime I would like to share this that my sister, Jeanne, had emailed me May 2011.  I LOVE it, even though it brings tears to my eyes each time I read it .....

PASS THE BISCUITS

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his Biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school.

I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits.. And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your momma put in a long hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides... a burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"

You know, life is full of imperfect things... and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else. What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults and choosing to celebrate each others differences, is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

So...please pass me a biscuit. And yes, the burned one will do just fine! And please pass this along to someone who has enriched your life... I just did!

Life is too short to wake up with regrets... Love the people who treat you right and forget about the ones who don't.

ENJOY LIFE NOW - IT HAS AN EXPIRATION DATE!

I do so LOVE the people who treat me right and would go to the Moon and Back for them.  On that note I am going to try to find me some Magic Star Dust to see it it will bring me a good nights sleep with dreams of the wonderful day, thanks to YOU, I just had, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard."
