Homemade & Standing By Is Simply The Very Best To Be Had, Is It Not ?

Most people get very upset when they are called negative names by others, but there is a simple trick to overcoming this. Here it is: If I went up to you and called you a fire hydrant, would you be upset? Of course not. Obviously you are not a fire hydrant, you are a human being. The same concept applies to when someone calls you something that you know you are not. They are foolish for saying such things, so why would you react with such anger? The only exception is when someone calls you something that is true! In this case, you should thank them for alerting you to a weakness, one that you can now work on changing.
Funny this should be the next Life Secret & Tip, as my best friend, Bob, and I were just talking about "name calling" yesterday, and it was not in respect to children towards each other, it was adult co-workers !  My statement to him was, "bullying is just not going on in the schools and playgrounds with children, it has carried on into the workplace as adults" !  Shame shame shame ..... it would appear with some, the level of maturity never grows.  Don't forget the age old rhyme, "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never harm me".  How I remember yelling this same rhyme out to my peers when I, myself, was a child growing up in Southampton.  I also remember reciting this rhyme to my own children throughout their growing years.  This rhyme obviously still holds true as we age, as it appears some people never "mature" and are "bullies" throughout their whole lives. Most of my yesterday morning was spent travelling to and fro from my Doctor's office in Lion's Head., as he was running behind not being able to see me at my 9 am appointment until around the 10 am mark.  Doctors lead extremely busy lives as much as we do, so I am sure we at times must allow for patience in these situations.I am just so happy my Doctor's staff are so pleasant, as usually so are the other people waiting, as it makes for a more pleasant wait.  I am now also grateful I have a Blackberry phone I can text my friends and family members, as this kept me otherwise occupied as well ...... lol.Not getting back home from "North of the Checkerboard" until at least the 11 am hour, I really didn't feel much like starting any Christmas Baking, so I got right to making some Homemade Chicken Noodle soup my "Crabby Cabbie" had requested earlier this week.  Of course, this was all started after Bandit, Lexus and Missy Mercedes were all first attended to, as how could I miss their wants and needs before anyone else?

"My "Crabby Cabbie" must have really enjoyed it as he had two bowls for his Dinner, and filled his thermos to have later at work.  I did sample it myself, and yes it was absolutely "Homemade Delish"."

Once Dinner was over with and cleaned up from it was already almost 1:30 pm, with the "Crabby Cabbie" leaving early for work at 2 pm, and me heading downtown for 3 pm to meet my friend, Sharon, for a walk. Oh I am so HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY I have found someone I have met to go walking with, as I am always looking for someone to go walking with me !!!!  Don't get me wrong, I love walking with any one of my "pack", at any given time, but it just isn't the same as having another person to walk and talk to.  It just seems you can cover more ground without hardly noticing when you have some "human" companionship to talk and walk with .... lol.  Must be the verbal interaction, as Bandit, Lexus and Mercedes can be very quiet most of the time, by just "sniffing" there way around. After our walk, I did some errands downtown Wiarton before I made it back home just before 6 pm.  Wow time flies when one is out and about walking and running around town, does it not?The rest of my evening was pretty "humdrum" with dishes, answering a few emails, in and out with the "pack", communicating back and forth a bit with my dear "Crabby Cabbie" and a phone call with my BFF (Best Forever Friend), Bob.  I think the most physical exciting part of my evening was when I set up my BRAND NEW "Clothes Horse" !!!

"I know, I know, people must think what a boring life this "South of the Checkerboard Chick" leads, if she is getting excited about a wooden drying rack.  Honesty I am just really so excited by not only how sturdy it is, but how much money I am saving in Hydro costs by utilizing the heat from our woodstove !  Key Words, "saving and money" !"

Speaking of savings, maybe "clever" should come into that phrase as well.  I received the same email this week from three different people, so I am thinking that is my "cue" to share the link for "25 Clever Ideas to Make Life Easier".  Face it who wouldn't want to make their lives easier?  so here is the "Fabulously 40" link to go to for these "clever tips":http://fabulously40.com/blog/id/25-clever-ideas-to-make-life-easier-21983I was so impressed to see the "tip" on how to fold fitted sheets the way I was shown how to 30+ years ago, as in my eyes it still stands be the only "clever" way to folding them. This pretty much sums up my yesterday, with a brand new day before me ....Christmas should be celebrated by standing by those in need the whole of the Christmas Season and all throughout the New Year of 2012.

I can honestly say, this is one song I think I would never tire of listening to.  Goodwill and Peace to All, as we, along with Family and Friends, all need each other to "Stand By".

Before I find myself an emotional wet washcloth here, I best be seeing what my Wiarton Airport Weatherman guy has to say about the day ahead.

Flurries ending, with no word of "accumulation"?  I love it !!!  As long as the roadways are clear, dry and safe to drive on, bring on the flurries, I say with not a problem.

My day is open to adventure, a "Shortbread Cookie" adventure I think, as I now head towards it, "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard".
